For our second classic ghost story reading, we have an uncanny classic by W.W. Jacobs. Jacobs mostly wrote comedies, and has been praised for his well-observed and realistic depictions of working class characters. It’s a measure of the quality of his supernatural fiction, however, that their reputation has outgrown that of his other works.
