It wasn't pretty, and in true Everton fashion, they certainly made it hard work for themselves, but there was no disputing that the 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday evening was desperately needed, given it came on the back of the low point of a season that has badly unravelled in the last two months.
It was a win secured by top-scorer Richarlison's 11th goal of the campaign and achieved in spite of the fact that substitute Lucas Digne was sent off midway through the second half after coming on for the injured Leighton Baines.
