NEWCASTLE United fans woke up to the realisation this morning that their side have not added to the squad for the second half of the 2014/15 season.And while no players joined the Magpies, six left the club on loan – five of whom joined Scottish side Rangers until the end of the season.
The sixth player to depart Tyneside was Italian full-back Davide Santon, who returned to his former club Inter Milan in Serie A.
The glimmer of hope for the Toon Army was the retention of big names such as Moussa Sissoko, Cheick Tiote and Papiss Cisse – however that could be short-lived, with the summer likely to be a much busier affair.
