The diagnosis of MS is complex. The symptoms and clinical signs of MS often come and go, and symptoms are not the same for every person. The diagnosis of MS in some people is quite quick, taking a few weeks, when the person has a very typical presentation. It may take months or even years, when a person’s presentation is less typical. What you have an initial diagnosis from an neurologist or your MS Dr. VA will supply your medication going forward. I originally was diagnosed by a neurologist and my doctor recommended an MS specialist. He originally prescribed me my disease modifying drugs for MS. When I went to the VA they look at all of my diagnosing paperwork in scans and immediately started providing my medication.

Mr. Robertson, if you feel you need prescribed medication for your MS, you should make an appointment with your MS provider to discuss this. Your provider will evaluate you, discuss your options, and write a prescription if deemed appropriate.
