Belmont Public Schools is recommending that their elementary school students read books this summer on white privilege and whiteness. An example of one recommended book is, “Not My Idea: A Book About Whiteness”. The school system in partnership with the Belmont Public Library said many of the books on their list, “demonstrate how kids can be advocates and activists”.
