  • The Tea party Humor segment

8 NOV 2013 · Well, this week a handful of elections took place around the country. There were some issues that stuck out ... like a sore thumb. At the top of the list was the Affordable Health Care Act (Obamacare), I mean just the website. Women’s issues were a hot topic as well. It was more like woman having issues with certain parties, like the Republican and the Tea Party, telling them what they can do with their bodies. I know a fist full of Tea Party folks and I know they think that we need to get back to the basics. But if going “back to basics” means that men go “back” to pulling woman around by their hair …. I can tell you two things. One: woman will cut their hair short Two: most of them likely come after you with the scissors. I don’t totally disagree with the Tea Party folks, that we should band together as a country and strengthen the people more than the politicians, but my Tea Party friends “Going back” to anytime in our country’s history most likely means we will be cutting out freedoms of certain groups: Gay, Black, Woman, .. Hmmm A word of advice to the Tea Party, recent elections have shown that the preferred drink of American’s isn’t black tea, it’s not green tea, not white tea... It’s diversity. Hey, I’m all good for starting another party. As a matter of fact the Tea Party has convinced me to start my own party, “The Toga Party” who are a real loud bunch of folks that dress funny and don’t follow anyones rules! Wait... maybe that is too close to the Tea Party! I am Will Roberts and this is your Weekly Telegram - (Bumper - For more info .. Political Comedians.com) Your Friend, Will Roberts

There is young Wellman helping run a betting parlor in his parent's bedroom, or winning a stereo for escorting an elephant to an appliance store. He worked with famous - Bob Hope, "Goober," Kenny Rogers, and Liberace and helped introduce Orville's popcorn to the world. He helped develop theaters, restaurants and hotels. • This week on Knock Around the News

21 OCT 2013 · Crazy Days in Congress 16 days of limited government, and what do we have to show for it? Maybe the best argument off all time that the USA would get along just fine with a federal government half its current size. Republicans backed down off the precipice of their desire to augment the president’s Affordable Care Act, and just enough of them voted with democrats to end the shutdown(or more appropriately the “slowdown,” as a majority of federal worker were back on the job already), and increase the debt ceiling limit. So we’re good until next year, because congress wouldn’t dare follow the people’s will and solve the problem completely. Nope, the best they could do was to fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt limit through Feb. 7. And just as the House of Representatives was voting, the chamber’s stenographer Dianne Reidy flipped her lid, grabbed a mic, and started shouting religious rants. She told Fox News that “For the past 2 and 1/2 weeks, the Holy Spirit has been waking me up in the middle of the night and preparing me (through my reluctance and doubt) to deliver a message in the House Chamber.” Good thing those congressional federal employees have premium gold-plated Cadillac health care plans. She was taken away for a mental check-up, and taxpayers will happily foot the bill for her treatment, and medical leave. Social Suicide Here’s a terrible story that suggests profound necessity to employ our younger generation with coping skills when it comes to taunting or bullying via social media. 12-year-old Rebecca Sedwick climbed to the top of an abandoned cement plant in Lakeland Florida, and then jumped to her death. She had been taunted and bullied by as many as 15 other girls during the past several months via online message boards and texts over a relationship she had with a boy who later ended up dating a girl who became her main antagonist. That 14-year-old girl and another 12-year-old girl were both arrested and charges with felony aggravated stalking. After Rebecca’s death, the 14 year old posted a message that said, “Yes IK I bullied REBECCA and she killed herself but IDGAF.” To be fair, the 14-year-old’s father says his little angel never sent any such message, and would never taunt or bully anyone. There’s plenty of finger pointing about how such a tortuous scenario could play itself out for months without any substantial intervention or resolution. We teach our kids to look both ways when crossing the street, and not to play with fire. In this world or deep connectivity and instant messaging, maybe it’s time for parents to start teaching our young ones how to cope with such cyber-bullying situations rather than pretending they are not a potentially gravely damaging circumstance. Appalling Air Take a breath of air in some parts of the planet, and you’re sucking in two lungs full of cancer-causing carcinogens. World Health Organization has an arm called The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). That agency put together a study that found in the year 2010, 223,000 deaths from lung cancer worldwide were caused by air pollution. The assertion is as simple as it is disturbing: air itself is now considered a carcinogen in some parts of the world. Especially troubling areas include China, other areas of Asia, Mexico, Central America, North Africa, and even some areas eastern North America.

  • Happy ObamaCare Day! Will Roberts

1 OCT 2013 · Happy ObamaCare Day! Well I woke up today and like most Americans I feel pretty good. But maybe just maybe I feel a little more positive that if I accidentally step off a cliff, you know like the Government did last night I'll be ok. Mainly because something new has swept the land, like a new reality program. Only it is a program that the Government is producing called The Affordable Care Act "ObamaCare. A lot of my friends on the right today are wearing black and I am not sure if it is clothes of morning or their special ops outfits to prepare for the Government take over they have been telling me about. Either way, I am not going to look at this in a negative way, I refuse to. Of course if we get into a few weeks of this and the effects of ferlowing 800,000+ government employees start rearing it's ugly heads. I will start knocking on doors of my local and state government officials… thats to say they will even be in their office. Most likely they might just use this time to work on their golf swing, or their tans. If I had a say to what the money I give (Taxes) is used for in this country, I'd give most of it to get those politician a many or shock therapy. Something is needed to change the course of this civil discourse we call Washington. So happy #HappyObamaCareDay to all of you who celebrate it and if you don't I am sorry for your loss. Oh, Just make sure you don't go purposely jumping out of planes, or riding a mechanical Bull, there seems to be some folks who won't give up that defund thing, so I'd wait about 4 years before you get sick. Oh and i will leave you with a little joke: How many Congress folks does it take to CHANGE a lightbulb… Were not really sure because it's been a long time since we have changed anything! 30 SEP 2013 · Knock knock- who`s there? Repeal, repeal who? Knock knock- who`s there? Repeal, repeal who? Knock knock- who`s there? Repeal, repeal who? Knock knock- who`s there? Orange you glad we didn't repeal again? Well, it looks like this joke of mine might get some good airplay this week. Dem`s and Rep`s are starting the week by ripping into the President`s health care bill. Now, you noticed I did not say Obamacare... That`s because, in all fairness I would then have to start calling the Republican`s plan, or lack of a plan the "Don`t care" plan. Now, Republicans don`t you dare look down on this humorist and think I am being heavy LEFT handed, "cause even though Americans got problems with this (plan) Bill, It has been a plan for a while. Which now puts it in a "plan of action" mode as opposed to "Republican`s plan of Distraction". Now, I am not one-sided on this issue. See, I don`t know that I agree that folks should have to buy insurance or face fines. To me, that`s like saying you need to pay Vinney each month to keep Vinney`s brother from breaking your legs. Let`s just say, we know Vinny (Dem`s) are trying to look like he`s providing us with a good service, but we know he`s pulling our leg. Then again I see the service in it. Can you imagine treating drivers the same way? You don`t have to have insurance, well; our street would very quickly start looking like a Friday night at the Demolition Derby. Just so you know, this assessment comes from my years of being dirt poor and having more $500 cars than a used car lot. Wait, I hope my last statement did not make me sound like I crash a lot. I am just pointing out that folks that don`t have money for insurance, junk the old, and buy a new ...used. Either way, stop messing around cause Americans are getting sick and tired of this and I am sure that "Sick & Tired" is not covered under the current health care plans. PS. I really don`t think it is fair having folks who get health care for free ( you big boys & girls ) to decide what is best for those of us who can`t even afford to pay attention.

28 SEP 2013 · You’ve Got Mail Word came out this week that President Obama traded letters with Iran’s new president Hassan Rouhani. The white house confirms Obama wrote to congratulate Rouhani on his election victory in June, a belated letter, yes, but a letter nonetheless. The dispatch also touched on some other matters of interest to the two leaders, presumably Iran’s nuclear program. Which begs some introspection into just how a president sends a confidential note to another president of a country that has no diplomatic relations with his own? Did Obama send an aid down to the local CVS to pick out a Hallmark card, then sit at his desk and pen some kind words? It’s a little more complicated than that. Correspondence, possibly a physical letter had to make its way from the President’s desk, through diplomatic aides, to the Swiss Embassy, where it was then handed over to Iranian diplomats who eventually gave it to Rouhani. This in a world of instant communication via email and text. Regardless, it appears the two leaders now have a starting point to discuss Iran’s nuclear ambitions. In an interview with Anne Curry of NBC news Rouhani said "From my point of view the tone of the letter was positive and constructive," and he also said Iran will never develop nuclear weapons. Stay tuned. Robotic Relationships After a decade at war in foreign lands, a big focus of the US military is developing robotic technology to fight battles on the front lines and save human lives. But here’s a twist no one saw coming. Julie Carpenter did a study at the University of Washington in which she interviewed 23 Explosive Ordnance Personnel from the U.S. military who regularly use robots to intervene in dangerous situations. She found the operators develop human like bonds with the machines for which they are responsible, naming them in some circumstances, and even having funerals for them when they’re hit and put out of service on the battlefield. She worries that soldiers' decisions on sending a robot into harm’s way might be biased by their feelings for the equipment (although the soldiers in her study said that was not the case). So could it be that the robotic role might be tempered by the tether to its human, and not be as effective a tool as the military hoped for? What if an operator is hesitant to send a robot into a tight spot? And on the other side, could operators become overly stressed and suffer post-traumatic-stress symptoms when a robot gets smashed to smithereens, shot or otherwise destroyed? Welcome to the world of unintended consequences. Important to note, this did not appear to be a highly scientific clinical study, but it raises some interesting questions about the relationship between man and machine. You Gotta Like This Ruling When our forefathers wrote the Bill of Rights, they could have never imagined a world where Facebook would reign supreme. A big legal battle over whether “liking” something on the social networking site is an expression of free speech appears to be settled, at least for now. Here’s the story: a former deputy in Hampton, Virginia says he was fired for clicking Like on the Facebook page of his boss's opponent in a race for sheriff back in 2009. The case ended up in the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals which ruled that clicking like on Facebook is the "Internet equivalent of displaying a political sign in one's front yard, which the Supreme Court has held is substantive speech." So now the case by Deputy Daniel R. Carter Jr. and five other former employees of the Hampton Sheriff's Department can proceed forward, they’re hoping to get their jobs back. But they won’t be getting any back pay because as a public official Sheriff B.J. Roberts is protected by the 11th Amendment's qualified-immunity provision regarding the scope of lawsuits against public officials, according to the circuit court.
