  • A Grace-Filled Life: Dying to Live

28 APR 2024 · Traditional Worship | Rev. Jordan Wilson | Have you ever received a blessing or a spiritual favor that you know you didn’t deserve? If so, you have experienced grace. Grace is the unmerited and unearned gift of God that comes to our rescue when we make mistakes or wander off the narrow path that leads to life. It is compassion, forgiveness and mercy mingled together to demonstrate God’s love for us and to remind us that God takes more delight in saving us than punishing us. Throughout the Scriptures there are dozens of stories where individuals were shown grace, either by way of God’s benevolence or through the greatest expression of grace the world has ever known, Jesus Christ. This sermon series will help us understand how a grace-filled life can turn our meager existence into a joyful, empowered and abundant way to live.

  • Finding God in the Quiet Places: Bittersweet

24 MAR 2024 · Traditional Worship | Dr. Edmund W. Robb III  | The season of Lent has its roots in the 40 days Jesus spent fasting and being tempted in the wilderness. Just as Christ relied on the Word of God to sustain Him, we, too, must use this season to nourish our souls as we experience our own temptations. One way for us to prepare ourselves and be ready for the great festival of the resurrection of Christ, which Easter celebrates, is to find God in the quiet places along our own Lenten journey. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.” In this holy, 40-day season, our sermon series is designed to help us seek and find God in the tranquil and peaceful places where we, like Christ, can be victorious over all those things that separate us from God. We are delighted you have joined us for our Lenten journey.
