***TRANSCRIPT INTERVIEW in PODCAST "Day 1.4_For which kind of art would you pay"***

Q: For what kind of art would you pay? And for what you wouldn't give any money?

A1: I would definitely pay for books, but I would never pay for art galleries, to see some paintings. I would go to the movies, I mean cinema, but never art galleries, paintings or sculptures.

A2: Generally, I really respect all kinds of art. And I would pay for anything. Somehow, when young people create something, I want to support that. I really think that every work needs to be payed for, but this is where the problem lies. Our economic situation requires us to make a list of what we can pay for and support. I have monthly plans for which I choose who I will support when. For instance, one month I support young writers, the other, designers, the following, illustrators. I really try to support them as much as I can, related to my economic situation.

A3: Some interesting exhibition, definitely. Something weird, that has unique topics or some extraordinary way of art expression. That is exciting for me. And certainly for movies at the cinema, or some big event. Generally, for those things that are not ordinary, thta you can't see everyday. I would never pay for Netflix or YouTube, instead.

A4: When we talk about art, I don't regret giving money. I like to pay for a good play, good concerts, for some band that hasn't been playing in Serbia for a while. Or for some exhibition as well. But I would not pay for plays, events or concerts that are popular but that I don't like. I don't enjoy going to these events for the sake of it. But generally I think that the least money goes to art. I think that we shouldn't think about money when some good event comes.

A5: One of the dark sides of the 21st century is that art has never been as available as it is now. Therefore, there is a lot of piracy going on. Everything is just one click from us, and we can find anything online. I think that we shouldn't lose the habit of paying for something that we like: that way, we support artists that we like and whose work we care about. It is not a big problem to give money for someone's concert, or for some cinema tickets... in that way we support our favourite movie director or band. We should not forget about that habit. No matter if everything is available, nothing can replace a live concert.

A6: When we talk about music, artist and entertainment content, I have to say, no matter how strange this sounds (for a young person), I would never buy a ticket for a music concert. Generally, concerts make me a little bit nervous and anxious. So, I don't like to attend them, unless they from my favourite 3 performers. In any case, I wouldn't spend a lot of money on that, if anything at all. I don't really go to gigs, so I wouldn't pay for that. I don't like crowds. But I would definitely pay for Deezer and Spotify, I think they are good platforms, and economical too. I would also pay for tickets to theatre plays. Theatre makes me happy, and if it's a good play, I would pay 1000, 2000, 3000 dinars (10 to 25 euros). Also Netflix, as I think it is the new cable TV. Honestly, if I lived alone, I could live without cable TV. I would gather information from other platforms. I'm not sure if I would pay for a museum ticket. I know it sounds bad, but well, it is what it is! I don't know if a museum is the first place I would go to if I visit a new place. Of course I would pay for some big mueums like the Louvre, the MoMA, or some museum in Russia or Spain. But that content doesn't interest me now, but I'm sure there is time for everything.

A7: I would pay for CDs and vyniles because I like to collect stuff from my favourite bands and singers. I think that I would never pay for a movie. I mean, I would pay to watch it in a (movie) theatre but I wouldn't buy it on DVD or Blueray, because I live in a poor country and here it is so expensive. It is much easier to watch it online than to buy it. ABout art galleries and exhibitions, if they are from an artist that is interesting, I would, otherwise I wouldn't.

A8: I would pay for music and movies. Basically, to go to the cinema and concerts.

A9: I'm not gonna talk abou all the arts because that would take a lot of time, but specifically about music: I would definitely pay for a concert, because that is where you can feel the real energy. It's different when you look at a live performance. I wouldn't pay for, for example, Spotify because you can find music that is available there in other places online, so I think it's a bit of a waste of money. But on live performances you can actually feel the energy and point of artistic expression.

A10: I would pay for every kind of art that triggers you and arts that have educational characteristics, for society or for the individual. Also for books, movies, theatre plays. I woudn't pay for anything that is less useful for society and individuals.

TRAINART is a EU-funded project developed and implemented by seven European partners: Consorzio Marche Spettacolo (Italy), Welcome A.p.s. (Italy), Teater Nu (Sweden), Kulturanova (Serbia), Haceria Arteak (Spain), Limerick City and County Council (Ireland).

TRAINART aims at:

- Strenghtening the competitiveness of the European Performing Arts sector and shaping new skills for cultural operators interested in developing innovative business models in the Cultural and Creative Industries;

- Giving new skills to cultural operators/artists by focusing on two particular fields: management models of cultural spaces (Field A) and artistic interventions in non-conventional contexts (Field B).

*Field A: New management models
for cultural spaces.

The need for performing arts center executives to exhibit strategic leadership and strong change management capacities may be best addressed by developing a systemic capacity building approach, based on the development of five key change management capacities. Engagement with international touring and presenting, as well as engaging diverse cultures within the community, requires the capacity to manage international cultural interactions and to represent cultural identity. Shifts in audience behavior and the constant increase of competition from diverse leisure activities require the capacity to promote innovative methods of audience development and to experiment participatory governance approaches. The diverse revenue streams involved in the management require the capacity to foster a sustainable mixed funding system. Most important, performing arts center leaders must exhibit effective strategic leadership, including constant strategic awareness and an entrepreneurial focus on changing environmental demands in the international, domestic and organization spheres of engagement.

*Field B: Artistic interventions
in non-conventional contexts.

TRAINART intends to provide cultural operators with adequate training to meet the demand for artistic interventions in unconventional contexts as quickly and effectively as possible. Artistic interventions in non-conventional frameworks (enterprises or public bodies) allow artists to open new markets and to reach different audiences, but also to gain new inspirations from unusual work environments: artistic interventions represent new opportunities for artists for experimentation and growth.
