For our #Deaf viewers, if you like, you can download the free music visualizer a Spectrum (for PC) from the @Microsoft Store for a visualization of the instrumental song playing at the intro of this podcast. Host: Welcome to Ability Anyware Radio. This is a disability advocacy podcast. Today, is Friday, January 20, 2019. Happy Friday to you! Celebrate the International Day of Acceptance with us on Sunday, January 20, 2019. This is a message from 3ELove. Please share it with others and encourage them to participate. The International Day of Acceptance is a day dedicated to social acceptance of disability, and to honor the late Annie Hopkins, founder of 3ELove and creator of the international Symbol of Acceptance. This logo is a person moving in a heart shaped wheelchair with the words “Embrace Diversity” + ”January 20th”+ “International Day of Acceptance.” Tell the world you embrace who you are, a person with social rights, who has an opinion, who has interests, who has goals and who loves life. You are a person who is empowered to make a difference in the world and will not be without a voice in society. You are not living disabled. You are living. Tell the world that you are accepting of people with disabilities. As our parents, siblings, relatives, spouses, children, lovers, coworkers, teachers, personal assistants, friends, and anyone else-you also have a role in our culture and life. You can start change by demonstrating acceptance and showing the world that you embrace people of all abilities. 3ELove stands for Embrace. Educate. Empower. Love Life. Please visit their website for more information at www.dayofacceptance.com. Thanks for tuning in and we look forward to connecting with you next time! Instrumental music plays for 5 seconds and fades. Show ends.
