On this glorious day, we're celebrating Martin Luther King Day and the International Day of Acceptance. Both of these events are perfectly aligned. Dr. Martin Luther King once said: "People are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality." Stop and reflect on that for a moment. It's quite profound and also embodied in the following is message from 3ELove. Please share it with others and encourage them to participate this special day with commemorative tweets that exemplify acceptance. Your tweets could include words of wisdom, photos, videos, sound bites or any other multimedia. And it doesn’t just have to be solely for today. You can do it throughout the year to show the beautiful neurodiversity in our community. The International Day of Acceptance is a day dedicated to social acceptance of disability, and to honor the late Annie Hopkins, founder of 3ELove and creator of the international Symbol of Acceptance. This logo is a person moving in a heart shaped wheelchair with the words “Embrace Diversity” + "January 20th”+ “International Day of Acceptance.” Tell the world you embrace who you are, a person with social rights, who has an opinion, who has interests, who has goals and who loves life. You are a person who is empowered to make a difference in the world and will not be without a voice in society. You are not living disabled. You are living. Tell the world that you are accepting of people with disabilities. As our parents, siblings, relatives, spouses, children, lovers, coworkers, teachers, personal assistants, friends, and anyone else-you also have a role in our culture and life. You can start change by demonstrating acceptance and showing the world that you embrace people of all abilities. 3ELove stands for Embrace. Educate. Empower. Love Life. We proudly wear our 3Elove Gear, including our 3ELove Pin, which we pinned to our clothes and displayed at our booth at a previous Abilities Expo. Please visit their website for more information on their products. They have great T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and backpacks. These are great gifts. All embossed with 3ELove logo. Find our more at www.dayofacceptance.com or visit their Twitter page @3ELove. Download the Spectrum, music visualizer app to enhance your entertainment experience. It's a free download the Microsoft Store. Remember that we love you just the way you are here at Ability Anyware Radio. This a shout to Billy Joel, thanks for sharing this lovely song with the world. It is so meaningful to us. It's such a beautiful experience listening to it or reading the lyrics. ASL interpretation video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kpnXnnkM1U *These lyrics are used for educational purposes, accessibility for Deaf viewers. Don't go changing to try and please me You never let me down before Don't imagine you're too familiar And I don't see you anymore I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble We never could have come this far I took the good times; I'll take the bad times I'll take you just the way you are Don't go trying some new fashion Don't change the color of your hair You always have my unspoken passion Although I might not seem to care I don't want clever conversation I never want to work that hard I just want someone that I can talk to I want you just the way you are I need to know that you will always be The same old someone that I knew What will it take till you believe in me The way that I believe in you? I said I love you and that's forever And this I promise from the heart I could not love you any better I love you just the way you are That was "Just the Way You Are" by one of our favorite artists, Billy Joel.
