She states, "When I encounter high school students, I tell them one of the first things they need to do as a freshman is visit the career services department and meet the individuals who work there." This allows them to learn more about you. So when opportunities arise, your career counselor can advocate for you. This translates with your career beyond college. Learn who the key members are in your organization and create an opportunity to meet them – from your direct management team to those who may be multiple levels above them. It pays to network.

Recently there has been a drastic increase in gray divorce, where individuals over 50, in long lasting relationships, decide to end their marriage. When making a major decision around ending a relationship with a spouse, you want to ensure you have the right representation. The most notable approach to divorce is litigation. However, there are other methods such as mutual consent, mediation, and collaborative. Attorney Harris values a collaborative approach to ending the marriage. The collaborative divorce is a method of negotiating a divorce settlement outside of court. The two parties reach an agreement on each aspect of the divorce contract, including child custody, visitation, and financial assets. The benefit is the separating parties set the terms instead of the court and resolution happens quicker.
