They are of the same substance; they are co-equal and co-eternal. God is tri-personal. The Trinity is a systematic doctrine which is revealed in Scripture.   Terms for God in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament): Yahweh is the personal name of the Hebrew God who is creator of all things El, or Elohim means God, gods, or divine being Adonai means Lord If the Hebrew is Yahweh (the name of God) they will translate it LORD LORD = Yahweh If the Hebrew is Adonai (lord) then they will just use the word Lord Lord = Adonai If the Hebrew is El or Elohim they will use God God = El, Elohim   Terms for God in the New Testament: Ha Theos (ὀ θεὀς) = God Kurios (κὐριος) = Lord, Master   One God in the Bible: Exodus 3:16-15; 20:2-3 Deuteronomy 6:4 1 Kings 8:60 Isaiah 43-45; 63:13 Psalm 89:26 Mark 12:29 1 Corinthians 8:4 1 Timothy 2:5 James 2:19   Distinction of Persons & Oneness: Matthew 11:27; 26:39 John 10:30; 14:16-17 (see John chapters 14-17) Transfiguration: (Matt. 17; Mark 9) Baptism of Jesus: Matt 3; Mark 1; Luke 3; John 1 Luke 24:49 Acts 2:33, 38 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 13:14 Romans 15:16 Galatians 4:6 Ephesians 3:14-19 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 1 Peter 1:1-2, 21-22   Deity of Jesus: Matthew 12:28; 13:41; 19:14; 24; 21:31, 43; 25:31; 26:63-65 Mark 2:8-10; 13:20 Luke 12:8-9; 15:10 John 1:1-3; 17:1-5; 19:7; 20:28 Romans 10:9, 13, quotes Joel 2:32 equating Jesus as Yahweh. 6 JUL 2022 · MY BIG FAT MOUTH Lying WVFC June 19, 2022 #2022-025   Scripture: Ephesians 4:21-25, John 14:6, John 8:44, Luke 16:10, Ephesians 4:15, 1 John 1:9, James 5:16   The Christian’s Walk: Align your mind to the Holy Spirit Stop lying   3 Types of liars: The "born liar” The “avoid trouble liar” The “protector liar”   Ephesians 4:25 25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.   Jesus is the truth. Satan is the father of lies.   Big Idea: When we lie, we come into agreement with Satan.   The Devil’s Plan Get you to lie Get you to lie to yourself Get you to live a lie   The Truth Plan Don’t allow even the smallest deception, rationalization, or exaggeration to come out of your mouth without repentance. Speak the truth in love.

  • My Big Fat Mouth | 2 | 6.5.22

6 JUL 2022 · MY BIG FAT MOUTH Criticism   Proverbs 18:21; James 1:26-27; Ephesians 4:29; 1 Peter 5:8; James 1:22-24, 3:1-15; Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Peter 4:8.   Criticism is expressing disapproval of someone, or something based on perceived faults. When we criticize, we put ourselves in the place of judge. Would you rather align with Jesus and speak life into people and situations, or would you rather align with the Devil and the Pharisees, finding fault in everyone and everything? Christ followers speak life. It is a deceptive trap to think we don’t need people in our journey with Jesus!

  • Passover to Pentecost | 5 | 5.15.22

6 JUL 2022 · PASSOVER TO PENTECOST #5 Waiting For the Promise WVFC May 15, 2022 #2022-020   Scripture: Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4, 12-13, Luke 24:52, 53, Acts 2:46, 1:14, Luke 3:21, 22, Acts 4:31, Hebrews 11:1, Romans 8:24, 25, Lamentations 3:26, Acts 2:1, 2.   The disciples waited in the Temple and in the house.   Wait on God in relationship.   Acts 7:55–60 | Stephen prayed as he was being stoned. Acts 8:14–17 | Peter prayed for the Samaritans to receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 9:11 | Saul of Tarsus prayed after his conversion. Acts 9:36–43 | Peter prayed before he raised Dorcas from the dead. Acts 10:1–4 | Cornelius prayed that God would show him how to be saved. Acts 10:9 | Peter prayed, and God told him to answer Cornelius’s prayers. Acts 12:1–11 | The believers prayed for Peter when he was in prison. Acts 13:1–3 | They fasted and prayed before sending out Barnabas and Paul. Acts 16:13–14 | They were praying, and God opened Lydia’s heart. Acts 16:16–18 | On the way to prayer, Paul cast a demon out of a girl. Acts 16:25 | Paul and Silas were praying, and God opened the prison doors. Acts 20:36; 21:5 | Paul prayed for his friends before leaving them. Acts 27:35 | During a storm, Paul prayed for God’s blessing. Acts 28:8 | After the storm, he prayed that God would heal a sick man.   The farther we get from prayer, the farther we get from receiving the promise that we are waiting for.   Wait on God in prayer.   Sometimes God makes us wait because He is God.   God is building our relationship with Him as our faith in Him grows.   Wait on God in hope.   The reason why God made the disciples wait 10 day is so that they would go deeper with Him in prayer, so that when the Holy Spirit came, they would be able to trust Him.
