He was referring to a document released in 1997 by neoconservative think-tank, Project For A New American Century (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century) called Statement of Principles, Rebuilding America’s Defenses/. The document declared that to mobilize public opinion to support America’s 21st century military agenda, a “New Pearl Harbor” would be needed. Griffin (https://bohemian.com/unquestioned-answers-1/) and numerous other “coincidence theorists” noted how conveniently the 9/11 attacks were used to justify the War on Terror, the Afghanistan invasion and Iraq War that have become the Forever War, with no end in sight. It also produced the so-called Patriot Act, which has led to the routine, thorough surveillance of American citizens that we have been asked to accept as “the new normal.” Well folks, there is now a NEW “new normal” thanks to the current COVID crisis, that seeks to install more surveillance and more encroachment of natural rights and human liberties. Our guest this week, is MD and vaccine expert Dr. Meryl Nass. She, along with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. of Children’s Health Defense, has produced a well-researched – and frightening – document that offers damning evidence that effective early treatments for COVID-19 were intentionally withheld so that vaccines could be fast-tracked without trials as emergency measures. Mark Crispin Miller earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in 1971, and his doctorate in English from Johns Hopkins University in 1977. He is currently a Professor of Media, Culture and Communication at New York University. 21 APR 2021 · Dr. Bruce Greyson – Near-Death Experiences and the Great Upwising How the Prospect of “Life After Death” Informs Life BEFORE Death Aired Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 2:00 PM PST / 5:00 PM EST Interview with Dr. Bruce Greyson, Author of “After: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal About Life and Beyond” “I haven’t actually had a near-death experience myself, but I hear it’s out of this world.” — Swami Beyondananda And now for something completely different… While we think of politics as extremely “this-worldly”, this week we are going to explore the otherworldly domain of near-death experiences and their implications for how we perceive life and death, and conduct ourselves in this world. This is a personal issue for me. When I was eight years old, my dad suffered a near-fatal heart attack, and afterward reported what would now be termed a near-death experience. While he was unconscious, his sister Betty, who had passed just a month before, beckoned to him from across a bridge. For some reason – possibly because he had two young boys to take care of – he declined the invitation and returned to this world. He lived another 18 years, long enough to see his boys grown up and on their way to fulfilling lives. As a boy, I continued to read about these experiences in Reader’s Digest, probably the only publication in the 1950s and 1960s that would give the experience credence. Fast-forward to 1980, when I was teaching a creative writing class for adults at the University of Michigan. One of my students was Dr. Bruce Greyson, at that time the emergency room psychiatrist at University of Michigan hospital. He was working on a story with a metaphysical theme, and one week when he was out of town, I was surprised to receive an installment from him in the mail in an envelope marked, “University of Virginia, Department of Parapsychology.” Needless to say, I was intrigued. When he returned, I asked him about it. He looked around to make sure I was the only one who could hear him. He then told me he did his psychiatric residency working with Ian Stevenson (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Stevenson), who was investigating children who remembered past life experiences. (I will save the full story for the interview itself.) In any case, Bruce and I stayed connected over the years and he has made the study of near-death experiences as his life’s work. As a scientist without a religious belief system, he has been relentless in seeking some physical explanation for the anecdotal data he received from patients who had vivid memories of what transpired when their brains were “dead”. These individuals quite often knew things they had no business knowing – including the awareness of loved ones who died while they themselves were unconscious and would have had no way of finding out. Do these inexplicable experiences that defy linear logic and scientific dogma have implications for the awakening needed to transform politics? I say they do! It’s a human race issue.” — Swami Beyondananda In the wake of the “woke” culture and Black Lives Matter movement, there has been much focus on white privilege, and how the lives of privileged white people differ radically from those of people of color. While all this is undoubtedly true, and those people continue to suffer “micro-aggressions” from unconscious white folks, it’s the MACRO-AGGRESSION that nobody wants to talk about. That macro-aggression is the dominator meme that we conveniently mistaken for “the way things are” that impacts us all, reflecting the domination exploitation paradigm that permeates every institution in our society. And while the Doctrine of Discovery stems from the Papal bulls issued in the 15th century giving white conquistadors the right to rape, pillage and massacre non-Christian people, it goes back further than that. In fact, we might look at the Inquisition as the perfect example of “white-on-white” crime. Domination is a fundamental theme of patriarchal religion, as well as secular scientific materialism focused on the 3 M’s: Materialism, Money, and the Machine. Our guest this week, Native American legal scholar Steven Newcomb, has been with us before. Today, he is here to go deeper into this pervasive paradigm, to help us address three key questions: What’s so? So what? Now what? Steven Newcomb (Shawnee, Lenape) is one of the world’s leading scholars on the Doctrine of Discovery and Domination, as well as the author of the best-selling book Pagans in the Promised Land: Decoding the Doctrine of Christian Discovery (Fulcrum, 2008). He is a co-producer of the documentary movie, “The Doctrine of Discovery: Unmasking the Domination Code,” directed and produced by Sheldon Wolfchild (Dakota), with narration by Buffy Sainte-Marie (Cree). What has come to be known as globalism can also be called gobble-ism, as it has become a way for those with way too much money and way too much power to gobble up our planetary resources, and keep the world’s population armed against one another. To keep this system in place, there is a system of “impropaganda” perpetuated by a media controlled by a few corporate players. In other words, globalization = gobble-ization = Goebbelization. Fortunately, there is an awakening – an upwising – by those who see a new kind of global engagement that comes from bottom up awareness instead of top-down imposition. Our guest this week, Jonathan Granoff, President of the Global Security Institute, is truly a voice in the bewilderness, who recognizes that our current way of pursuing “security” is both obsolete and obsolethal. Instead of promoting endless growth – that is, extraction of nonrenewable resources – and preserving peace by preparing for war, we need to encourage the cooperation necessary for sustainable living and development. I know, I know. He is proposing a sane world. He must be crazy. My sense is that he is calling forth a “sane asylum” where we find and cultivate the sane and sacred center that represents our true human potential. Jonathan Granoff is an attorney, author and international advocate emphasizing the legal and ethical dimensions of human development and security, with a specific focus on advancing the rule of law to address international security and the threats posed by nuclear weapons. He serves on numerous governing and advisory boards including: Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy, Fortune Forum, Jane Goodall Institute, the NGO Committee on Disarmament, Peace and Security, Parliamentarians for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Disarmament, and Middle Powers Initiative. He is a recipient of the Rutgers University School of Law’s Arthur E. Armitage Distinguished Alumni Award and a 2014 nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize.
