15 MAY 2014 · Today's Voices of Grace: Manager of Community Building, Paul Sorenson, and the helping hand of a local Neighbor, Mrs. Velma Bailey. Grace Hill Settlement House partners with North St. Louis elementary schools to extend their reach beyond Head Start. Within a comprehensive family support structure and two after school programs, they serve over 200 children and their families. The program involves the children of three local schools with learning opportunities and family assistance.

18 APR 2014 · Step right up!!! Circus Flora partners with Grace Hill Settlement House to share the circus with children in North Saint Louis. For these children to have a pop-up circus, in their own backyard, is truly a-ma-zing! It creates a sense of pride for all in the community. Joel Emery from Circus Flora and Vicki Taylor of Grace Hill Water Tower Head Start join us explain this unique act of grace.

11 APR 2014 · On any given day a visitor to Grace Hill’s Head Start Centers may be surprised to walk into a classroom and see pre-schoolers learning while examining skeletal bones with expert guidance from the Saint Louis Science Center, or smiling bright with clay-stained cheeks from molding and sculpting with educators from the St. Louis Art Museum. This out of the box initiative to learning began when PNC launched a pilot called Grow Up Great with three of the Grace Hill Head Start Locations! Debbie Marshall, Vice President and Director of Client and Community Relations with PNC, discusses the magic of The Grow Up Great Program with us today.

14 MAR 2014 · Today, a true voice of grace, Ms. Miller, joins us to share her experience with the Early Head Start program, for young mothers and children under 3 years old. And we have with us Karen Douglas, who manages Early Head Start. Early Head Start contributes to assuring that every child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Grace Hill Settlement House is a nonprofit located in St. Louis that works on grassroots levels to develop and enhance the lives of their neighbors.

14 MAR 2014 · For over 110 years, Grace Hill has been rooted in neighborhoods, working alongside individuals to change lives. Ever heard of "Time Trading"? In this segment of Voices of Grace we meet Gold Wise, Program Manager and life changer. Grace Hill has a unique computerized bartering system, the M.O.R.E. Time Dollar Exchange (MTDE), which brings neighbors together to volunteer their time and wealth of talents to help each other meet day-to-day needs. Participants earn a Time Dollar for every hour of service that they provide to other members.
