    20 DEC 2013 · The Yvonne Pierre Show welcomes Kirsten Suto Seckler, Vice President of Branding and Communications of Special Olympics International.  As the VP, Branding and Communications, Seckler leads global branding, marketing, and communications including the areas of media and public affairs, digital marketing, publications and graphic design, multimedia production, and internal communications for the global movement to build public awareness, brand value and increased funds. Most recently, she led a comprehensive Special Olympics brand alignment effort to improve the coherence and effectiveness of the Special Olympics brand in all 170 territories throughout the world where the movement operates resulting in clearer and easier implementation by grassroots leaders and easier public comprehension of the organization. Seckler joined the global headquarters of Special Olympics after spending three years working as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Special Olympics Wisconsin where she also was the public relations representative for Team USA at the 1999 Special Olympics World Summer Games. She has been with the Special Olympics movement for more than 15 years. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University for the Master of Professional Studies Sports Industry Management Program. In 2009, Seckler was an honoree of the 2009 Washington Women in Public Relations Woman of the Year Award and is a member of the National Press Club, the American Marketing Association and Association for Women in Sports Media.

    19 DEC 2013 · The Yvonne Pierre Show welcomes Andrea L. Cahn and Isabella (Bella) Smith.   Andrea L. Cahn is the Senior Director of Special Olympics Project UNIFY.   Andrea has been with Special Olympics for the past 24 years.  As the inaugural Director she was responsible for the launch five years ago of this major partnership with the U.S. Department of Education to promote inclusion by creating model schools of acceptance through the innovative implementation of existing and new Special Olympics sports and education programs. The program has grown to a multi-million program currently in 45 states and 2,310 schools and reaching 1.7 million students with messages and activities that promote inclusive youth leadership and social inclusion.  Andrea holds a degree in special education, and has worked as a volunteer with children with intellectual disabilities since she was an adolescent.   Isabella Smith is a 16 years old Special Olympics Athlete who represents North Carolina.  She has been involved with Special Olympics for almost 16 years.  Isabella first got involved through her brother who is a Special Olympics athlete.  She became an athlete when she turned 8 years old. In 2012, Isabella was selected to be a Global Messenger and State Youth Activation Council member. As a National YAC member, she hopes to increase the knowledge of and participation in Project UNIFY. She wants to help people become more aware of Special Olympics and all of the projects involved with it. Her favorite part of Project Unify is being able to volunteer, give speeches, and work hand in hand with a bunch of wonderful people who are passionate about it, just as she is.

    16 DEC 2013 · The Yvonne Pierre Show welcomes Dee Doanes, an alternative/Holistic Health Advocate, Writer, and Marketing Expert.  She is the founder and editor-in-chief of Health Plus Style (www.healthplusstyle.com), an alternative health lifestyle blog.  Doanes is passionate about spreading the philosophy of the body, mind, and spirit connection. Her motto is, “Be free, be open, be happy!”  Doanes also is a published writer and has an extensive background in marketing. She enjoys leading workshops, seminars, retreats, and public speaking. Doanes is active in many charities including being a board member of The Action Not Words Project. She has conducted youth poetry workshops for the Atlanta Writers Club Youth Writing Camp, and is the former co-chair of the Writing in the Schools Program for Georgia Writers. In her spare time you can find Doanes growing organic vegetables in her garden, fitness training, gourmet cooking, photographing nature, and traveling the world.

    9 DEC 2013 · The Yvonne Pierre Show welcome Leroy F. Moore Jr. a black writer, poet, hip-hop music lover, community activist and feminist with a physical disability, Cerebral Palsy (CP). He has been sharing his perspective on identity, race & disability for the last thirteen years or so. His work began in London, England where he discovered a Black Disabled Movement which help led to the creation of his lecture series; 'On the Outskirts: Race & Disability. Leroy is Co-founder of the Sins Invalid performance project and its Community Relations Director.  Leroy is also a contributing writer and performer for many Sins Invalid shows.  He is also the creator of Krip-Hop Nation and produced Krip-Hop Mixtape Series.  With Binki wio of Germany and Lady MJ of the UK started what is now known as Mees with Disabilities, an international movement.  Leroy formed one of the first organizations for people of color with disabilities in the San Francisco Bay area that lasted five years.  He is associated with the National Black Disability Coalition.  Leroy was Co Host of a radio show in San Francisco at KPOO 89.5 FM, Berkeley at KPFA 94.1 FM.  Since 1992 Leroy has write for the San Francisco Bayview Newspaper.    He has studied, worked and lectured in the field of race and disability concerning blues, hip-hop, and social justice issues in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa. Leroy is one of the leading voices around police brutality and wrongful incarceration of people with disabilities and has studied, worked and lectured in the field of race and disability concerning blues, hip-hop, and social justice issues in the US, UK, Canada and the Netherlands. A recognized and accomplished inspirational speaker, Rachel has presented high content, high quality and high energy talks. Her work has been shared through various mediums and sources of media. As a Nutritionist with a passion for Haiti, Rachel was featured on Television on the Morning LIVE Show.
