Welcome to the podcast series of The Sound Outside, a project launched at the end of March 2020 as the world enters lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sound Outside is a collaborative project curated by Valeria Caputo and Sara Lenzi. Sound designers from all over the world documented the changes in the soundscapes of their cities, recording from outside their windows. These soundscapes are collected on a map and shared through the sounDesign platform. In this podcast series, the sound designers who took part to The Sound Outside reflect together on what sound means for humans, how the pandemic changed the urban soundscape, how we can contribute to design a better one when all this is over. And, what sound from the world before they would bring with them. Enjoy listening!
