  • Navigating Trauma Understanding PTSD and Recovery

28 FEB 2024 · During and after a traumatic incident, it's common to experience fear. Our body's instinctual "fight-or-flight" response kicks in, initiating rapid changes to protect us from danger or help us avoid it altogether. While most individuals will naturally recover from the range of reactions following trauma, some may continue to struggle, leading to a diagnosis of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD can manifest in those who have undergone shocking, frightening, or hazardous events, reshaping the trajectory of their lives. On this week's episode of the Shann Zeeman show, we welcome Linda Stanley, a retired Air Force Officer who served as a trauma nurse during her deployment to Iraq in 2006. Linda brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked in an emergency psychiatric clinic specializing in the assessment and treatment of PTSD. Currently, she serves as a psychiatric nurse practitioner at a residential treatment facility dedicated to aiding Veterans, particularly those returning from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, on their path to recovery. Linda's unwavering commitment to assisting individuals grappling with PTSD is evident in her national speaking engagements on the subject, addressing various professional groups. • Daily Habits for Women

28 APR 2021 · Situational awareness in the everyday world is not about paranoia. It is not keeping your head on a constant swivel, looking for a threat. It is practicing being mindful and present in your daily life. The more you work on listening to and trusting your intuition, the more you will discover quiet confidence that you DO know your surroundings. Our guest this week, Kelly Sayre, believes all women can learn how to be more situationally aware to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. She took self-defense classes, firearm safety courses and browsed all the tools marketed to women to carry for their protection- but what she couldn’t find was someone talking to women about how to spot a potentially dangerous situation BEFORE it happened. That is when her company, The Diamond Arrow Group, was born. An arrow through a diamond symbolizes “courage moving forward” and her mission is to help women build their confidence so they can move forward and live life on their own terms. Kelly is a life-long learner and has been researching and studying resources on situational awareness for years. She is an endorsed 500rising instructor. She took all that knowledge and created training, keynote presentations, and one-on-one coaching programs, with the everyday woman in mind. She draws on her vast research and knowledge to help women understand how to use life skills they already have, for their personal safety For more information and Contact: https://bit.ly/3nsW77h
