    #3 - PICK-UP (1975) / BLOOD SISTERS (1987)

16 FEB 2019 · We're kicking off 2019 (late) with our first double-feature episode! First up: 1975's Pick-Up looks like another grindhouse flick on the surface, but is almost nothing like what you'd expect it to be. It's visually stunning, genuinely terrifying in some parts, and even thought-provoking in its own weird way. It must be seen to be believed. Whatever one might think of this movie, it's hard to deny that there was a lot more on the filmmakers' minds than simply pumping out a cash-grab exploitation flick. If you want to experience the movie for yourself, it's on Youtube for free. After that, we dive into 1987's Blood Sisters, infamous sleaze queen Roberta Findlay's belated answer to the at-the-time declining '80s slasher craze. Is it a worthy entry into the genre that stands up among the ranks of Halloween and A Nightmare On Elm Street? Is it a so-bad-it's-good cheesefest? Is it neither of those things? Listen to our discussion to find out! You can also watch this one on Youtube, should you feel so inclined. Hear what Terry and John have to say about these two gems on this, the (belated) season two premiere of THE DEAD END STREET PODCAST. #2 - BLOOD MANIA (1970)

16 NOV 2018 · Not only our second overall episode, but also our second episode in a row involving a Crown International film released in 1970! Blood Mania is a film that fancies itself "a suspense shocker in the Psycho tradition" despite the title and advertising making it look like an LSD-soaked gore-fest. The plot involves a crazy woman trying to murder her father, inherit his wealth, and then give it to her boyfriend to help him pay off a debt. Not a terribly interesting story, but the over-the-top acting and overall weirdness assures it at least lives up to the "mania" in the title. #1 - CINDY & DONNA (1970)

14 OCT 2018 · Cindy... so anxious to grow up. Donna... who grew up too fast! Terry & John... who just wanted the damn movie to end. For their maiden voyage podcast, our hosts sit down and talk about 1970's Cindy & Donna, from the infamous Crown International Pictures. A remarkably sleazy film with little-to-no redeeming value, this film really tests the limits of how long one can stand to watch dull softcore sex scenes. Throw in a cynical, mean-spirited vibe and you get one of the most depressing and despicable films in the sexploitation genre. Hear Terry and John talk all about it in this, the debut episode of DEAD END STREET. For those morbidly curious enough to watch this movie, it's available on Youtube for free. Make sure to follow the show on twitter @deadendstpod Follow Terry at @deadendterry John is not on Twitter.
