The Chris Shiel Show

  • Tubular Bells

3 OCT 2016 · It took a year (more or less) ... Recording single tracks over time and then recording 2 tracks at a time, bouncing to a single track and using as a background guide. 14 tracks in all - A couple of bits go slightly awry but, it's near as dammit ! As ever - Yamaha DGX-505, Cakewalk Sonar and Adobe Audition.

  • St Louis Blues (Duke Ellington)

12 MAY 2015 · "Saint Louis Blues" is a popular American song composed by W. C. Handy in the blues style. It remains a fundamental part of jazz musicians' repertoire. It was also one of the first blues songs to succeed as a pop song. It has been performed by numerous musicians of all styles from Louis Armstrong and Bessie Smith to Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Guy Lombardo, and the Boston Pops Orchestra. It has been called "the jazzman's Hamlet". Published in September 1914 by Handy's own company, it later gained such popularity that it inspired the dance step the "foxtrot". This version by Ron Smith is in the style of Duke Ellington. Played live on his Yamaha Clavinova and recorded via midi. Emailed to me and played through my Yamaha DGX-505 and recorded using Cakewalk, Adobe Audition and Audacity. Cheers Ron ;0)

  • Bring Him Home

9 MAR 2014 · From "Les Misérables" God on high Hear my prayer In my need You have always been there He is young He's afraid Let him rest Heaven blessed. Bring him home Bring him home Bring him home. He's like the son I might have known If God had granted me a son. The summers die One by one How soon they fly On and on And I am old And will be gone. Bring him peace Bring him joy He is young He is only a boy You can take You can give Let him be Let him live If I die, let me die Let him live Bring him home Bring him home Bring him home

16 JAN 2014 · First started a couple of years ago - Sounded terrible so, abandoned and left alone. Had a play about with it just before Christmas (2013) and it worked out easier using Sonic. Enjoy ;0)
