  • Episode 3: d.b. Schmitt Riesling 2018

14 DEC 2020 · 3rd Episode: In this episode, I am channeling from d.b. Schmitt Riesling 2018 References mentioned: https://zrswines.com/wine-producer/weingut-schmitt/ and https://www.rawwine.com/wine/erdreich/ Bianka Schmitt and Daniel Schmitt: Bianka and Daniel Schmitt are two talented young winemakers making biodynamic wine “just from grapes” in the Rheinhessen region of Germany. The wines are pure and fresh, full of personality and life. Rheinhessen is the largest wine growing region in Germany, and has been largely associated with bulk production. However, in recent years, the region’s reputation has begun to shift as a new generation of younger, more innovative growers are reducing yields and honing in on the largely undervalued terroir of this region. Bianka and Daniel epitomize this new wave of German winemakers, working hard to produce wines of the highest quality with as little intervention as possible. The Weingut Schmitt winery has been in the family for over 200 years. Bianka and Daniel have been working their 16 hectares biodynamically for over a decade and are one of only 80 producers in Germany to be Demeter certified. They work with amphorae as well as used oak barrels and release a ‘Natur’ line that contains no added sulphur. ABOUT THE PODCAST: It’s a poem and story podcast hosted by Rachelle, that creatively explores how natural wine and other fermented or distilled beverages can be a channel of wisdom for connecting more deeply with the earth and it’s stories. Through myths we can help make sense of time, of our surroundings and of the unseen forms that are felt. They make sense of the layers of nonlinear time. The spaces we create, unexpected circumstances, cycles, misplaced thought patterns and affinities. Much of my writing is channeled through beverage and nature, it’s a mythology weave of sorts. Our own myths are fundamental to being human, this is what I explore on the Beverage Channel Podcast.

  • Episode 7: Samhain Coffee Channel

14 DEC 2020 · Welcome to the Beverage Channel with your host, Rachelle. In Episode 7 :: is a channeling for Samhain. This was done with intention over a three day period, starting October 30th and released on November 1st. Using coffee, specifically Greek coffee that is boiled in a briki, where the grounds are read and is called tasseography. Similar to reading tea leaves, wine or beer sediments, I am using it here as a divination tool woven with poetry channeling. I first learned this technique in 2009 while traveling in Greece and from Greek friends here in the states. I have developed my own way of reading that isn't seen as good, bad or as a fortune telling tool to define the future. It is rather a tool for connecting with the "otherworlds" and the earth through the medium of coffee. It is a snapshot in time, that is done with care and appreciation for the spoken word, channeled through coffee. Being that is a Samhain channeling, it would be remiss to also not touch on the importance and joy of enjoying a cup of afternoon coffee with my grandmother. Coffee breaks, sometimes called fika (she is of Swedish descent) was something I grew up with and loved. As a kid, it was mostly for the afternoon cookie to dunk into the coffee. However, this was a time for connecting, sharing stories and catching up over coffee and it instilled in me a passion for coffee culture, but also the wisdom of how coffee can be used in conjunction with storytelling. So here is the Samhain poetry channeling for connecting with the now and those who have come before... • Special April Fools Episode: a look at the crossroads

1 APR 2020 · In this special recording, I was inspired by drinking 2012 García + Schwaderer Vigno and reflecting on 2012, a year at the crossroads for me. Also the timely manner of this current shift in our routines. We all are likely undergoing big changes in our lives and for some maybe finding ourselves at a crossroads. The changes I went through in 2012 is why I am sitting here recording this today. It’s why I’m on this path of channeling through beverages, seeking earth wisdom and practicing shamanic healing modalities focused on the mystery schools of ancient Europe + beyond. To think that all this was seeded and shifting back in 2012. Often we can’t see or understand what a major life change means for us until much later in reflecting. In my experience we aren’t meant to see, actually that would get in the way of the “work”, the will, perseverance and the magic. We must not forget the magic in living...Looking back now, I can say there hasn’t been a shift that didn’t bring more growth, wisdom and empathy for myself and others.

  • Tingling - Channel weave from England

28 MAR 2020 · In the episode I offer a collective weave from my recent trip to England. Where I traveled through Somerset, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge, Dorset and London. I was tasting cider in Somerset and spending time on the land in Dorset where much of this came through along with riding the underground in London. The plane ride back to Boston was where it all came together as the sunset hung for hours in the distance and we were flying in leminal time.

ABOUT THE PODCAST:
The Beverage Channel is a poem and story podcast hosted by Rachelle, that creatively explores how natural wine and other fermented, distilled or extractions can be a channel of wisdom for connecting more deeply with the earth and it’s stories.
Through science we know that our bodies and the earth’s body is composed primarily of water and water is the sacred matrix of all life. Rustum Roy said that “structured water is the world’s most malleable computer”, referring to how crystalline phase water can store and transmit information. So herein begins the weave, if water holds memory and our bodies, the earth and all beverages too are composed of mostly water then it’s not so far-fetched to believe that one can connect with that stored information. So here also comes the layer of myth and imagination woven with the science that quantum states of water and it’s many ways of existing defies the laws of physics.
Through the language of poetic myth we can help make sense of time, of our surroundings and of the unseen forms that are felt. It creates shapes for the layers of the nonlinear. As it does for the spaces we inhabit, unexpected circumstances, cycles, misplaced thought patterns and affinities. Much of Rachelle's writing is channeled through beverage and nature, it’s a mythology weave of sorts. Our own myths are fundamental to being human, this is what we explore on the Beverage Channel Podcast.
