If you have been a jerk, there is little or nothing to complain about. You made your bed, now sleep in it. If you have done nothing wrong, it doesn’t mean you did anything right either. You are the adult in the room. No one owes you anything and if you don’t do the right thing, if you don’t put in the effort, no results is all you can expect. 7 FEB 2024 · How to assign chores This video shares one of the most useful tools in deciding and assigning what chores is whose responsibility and how to establish the corrective actions when things are not takes care of as per agreed upon. The name of the game is sharing. These are processed that have to be shared and cannot be a top down approach If the desired result is getting things done and teaching the kids to take their responsibilities and respect their own promises.

6 FEB 2024 · How to disengage Disengaging is a very useful strategy that stepfathers should always keep available in their toolbox. We are not always in the mood or have the energy to engage with a step kid that is not being at peak performance. We can get mad, or get frustrated cause we have to give in, but the weapon of disengagement is always available. While not to be used too frequently, it is a wonderful tool to get a breather. Let things slide off you and do not voluntarily tackle issues that you know will not, at that time, bring any good. It takes some effort but the rewards are quite surprising. What never ends is us being parents, that, we remain for life. Not only does parenting have to stop, if it does not, we have to put an end to it.
