In today's journey into the depths of musical passion and the intricate balancing act of life, we have the pleasure of hosting the ever-charismatic Sean Sullivan. From his roots in an Irish Catholic upbringing and his early encounters with music that sparked a lifelong love affair, to the garage band days that shaped his identity as a singer and a musician, Sean's story is a rich tapestry of highs and lows. Join us as we delve into the harmony of Sean's life, unpacking his partnership with Charlie—the other half of the dynamic duo Sean and Charlie—and how their synergy on stage has captivated audiences across countless venues. Despite the physical toll of playing instruments, particularly the tambourine, Sean's spirit remains high, buffered by the calluses that tell tales of musical battles fought and won. We'll explore the pragmatic side of a musician's life, the commitment to family that has seen Sean slow down from the grueling pace of up to 250 shows a year and the decision that led to his wife's return to the workforce. It's a reflective chapter as Sean considers the crossroads of performing versus the responsibilities that come with age and fatherhood. • Unplugged Moments and Musical Adventures of a Multitasking Mom

20 DEC 2023 · This week, I find myself at the Chicago Athletic Center. Don't let the name fool you, it's actually a hotel with a fascinating history. Back in the day, it was a place where men would go to escape their wives and children. Crazy, right? Being here in Chicago has been a whirlwind, especially with the holidays right around the corner. Work has been hectic and stressful, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here with everyone. A highlight of this week was getting to perform at the company Christmas party. It reminded me of my first month at Shure when I sang in the same spot for the entire company. It was a great way to introduce myself and show people who I am as an artist. As the holiday season continues, I'm just trying to take a breath and enjoy the moment. It feels like everything is moving at hyperspeed, and I'm sure many of you can relate. We all just need a break and some time to recharge. This week has been filled with ups and downs, but I'm grateful for every moment. Tonight, I'll be attending one last event before heading to Jay Peak for some skiing and celebrating a friend's birthday. It's a much-needed getaway. In the coming days, I hope to focus on my music and work on getting song43.com up and running. It's an exciting new chapter, and I can't wait to have a dedicated website for the podcast. If anyone has any web design skills, I'd love to hear from you! Thank you all for listening and for your support. I appreciate each and every one of you. Stay tuned for more episodes and as always, thanks for being here.

  • Creating, Juggling, and Caroling: A Deeper Look at Life and Music

6 DEC 2023 · This week, I'm navigating holiday prepping and video production. I'll take you behind the scenes of my video setup, complete with neon signs, vintage ads, guitars, keyboards, and cool lighting. Tune in to hear how I use Ecamm Live and Stream Deck to effortlessly create and edit videos. In this episode, I discuss the process of releasing music and the not-so-instant gratification that comes with it. I share my experiences with CD Baby, the publishing distribution service I've been with for over 20 years, and how they manage the monetization of my music. But it's not just about music. I also talk about my recent caroling adventures and the joy (and weirdness) of singing traditional carols in public. I also share a funny story about a scuffle at a restaurant that made me see things from different perspectives. Don't forget to leave a comment on social media and share the podcast with your friends.
