Video Games - Hitler didn't have a Nintendo.

27 AUG 2020 · This week we talk about the continued attack by police forces on people of colour, following the senseless attempted murder of Jacob Blake. We also discuss some news that broke during our recording, where we learned that NBA games were being boycotted (exactly four years to the day when Colin Kaepernick, took his first historic knee). We then get into regular programming with a video game themed episode. We talk about the bad rap video games get, like getting blamed for school shootings instead of you know, actual guns. We answer your Fail Bag video game questions. We review The Last of us 2, which is a post-apocalyptic game that depicts what our society will soon look like given its current trajectory. We then launch a new segment, Netflix Trash Talk, where I quickly review shitty movies I’ve been watching online. And finish with our newest weekly segment, Shame of the WeAk, where we shame someone for doing something shitty out in society. Don’t forget, Society Camp is always watching, like Big Brother, but with a heart of gold.

    Lost Episode: Black Lives Matter

6 AUG 2020 · Two months ago we recorded a Black Lives Matter episode (with a bit of a sports lens). It was lost to IT issues that have since been resolved. We talk about our thoughts on how to support Black Lives Matter; we hear wise words from our sports hero Colin Kaepernick; we look back on some of history’s most influential and inspiring Black athletes; and close with a bit of a deeper dive into one of the greatest and most important basketball players of all time, Oscar Robertson. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Sports: An essential service for billionaires (Part 2 of 2)

31 JUL 2020 · Just when you thought we were gone for good, we come back with a vengeance, like Polio (thanks anti-vaxxers). Back with an all new 2 part sports themed episode. In Part 1, we talk about how sports is somehow an essential service (for billionaire’s pocketbooks). And we also take a look into the flatulence loose world of yoga in a chat with star guest John Fritz. In part 2, we talk heatwave etiquette in a new segment called What HOT To Do, and finish off with a Fails from the Crypt Keeper on the evils of fantasy sports. Back with new episodes every Monday. And the good news (for some) is that because of our hiatus we now have an arsenal of them to unleash on the world [insert sinister laugh].

Coworkers - You may miss them, but you shouldn't!

24 MAY 2020 · In today's episode we remind you that during these uncertain COVID times, you shouldn't be missing your coworkers too much, as we discuss the Top 10 most annoying coworker types. We also asnwer your Fail Bag questions about the people you are forced to spend a large portion of your lives with, filthy coworkers. And of course, we dive into a sea of unrelated tangets, because that's how we do it here at Society Camp. Ranting and raving, raving and ranting. The Society Camp way.

    Don't, you be, my nieghbour

29 APR 2020 · This week's episode is all about neighbours, specifically the ones that haunt my free time and park in front of my house. We ran long, so keep an eye out for a bonus Fail Bag episode coming out tomorrow! And for those of you who think that 45 minutes of me screaming into the mic is not enough, don't fret, we've updated our podcasting software so now can record for up to 3 hours. What a nightmare! Enjoy and remember, don't be shitty. And also remember to subscribe, rate, review and all that annoying garbage that kids on YouTube are always asking you to do after watching some video of them playing Call of Duty.

  • Outro Song

21 APR 2020 · Because we still are on the junior plan that only gives us 45 minutes of podcasting production, our outro music (Feverfew, by Sarah, The Instrumentalist) was cut short. It's a jam, especially thanks to some choice samples we threw in there to spice up the joint.

Crappy COVID Kid Art and Tangent Time

20 APR 2020 · The first full-length (and crystal clear-ish) episode of Society Camp, raw and uncut, because audio editing is hard! This inaugural episode covers COVID conundrums, like dealing with all the awful art kids are 'creating'. We hate on joggers and their germs. We dig into our vault with our first 'Fails from the Crypt Keeper'. And we answer some Fail Bag questions, like why are puzzles so goddamn awful. Come for the new and improved sound, stay for the judgement.

  • Intro Theme Song

11 APR 2020 · Our lack of technological prowess has meant that the first trailer episode went up without a theme song. Credit for the song goes to the very smooth and talented Mythical Score Society, and their song 'I Don't Smoke'. I bet they do smoke those filthy liars. Vocal credits go to Larry David, and George Costanza, who have both been proudly chizled onto Society Camp's very own Mount Rushmore, which we call Mount Rushless. We'll show oursleves out on that one. Enjoy!

People are awful. You know it, I know it, and awful people everywhere know it. Society is failing, because people think it's okay to re-heat fish in the work microwave, or stand side-by-side on an escalator. It's not.

So what can we, as a society, do to ensure that we aren’t so shitty to each other? What we can do is start a fictional Society Camp where people can be sent to in order to learn how to properly operate in society. You think it’s okay to listen to Iggy Azalea at volume 11 on your open ear headphones? Well you just got a half day at Society Camp, where you’ll be locked into a dark room and serenaded by a shirtless Chad Kroeger the entire time (Photograph on repeat).

Every offence will be met with a different sentence (from hours to days, and maybe one day we’ll discuss something egregious enough to think about weeks/months), and coupled with a different reform punishment.

Society Camp may only live in our hearts and minds, but be warned, that if you are a dick who doesn’t know how to be a fucking human when among your peers, Society Camp is watching.
