  • Episode 40: Foyle Down Syndrome Trust

16 JUN 2018 · On 16 June 2018 the beautiful Páirc Na Magha played host to the wonderful children from the Foyle Down Syndrome Trust. For a few months some of our u10s and u8s have been training and playing alongside the FDS Trust kids culminating in a match against our u8s. It's been a hugely enriching experience watching our kids and the kids from the FDS Trust working and growing together. Following the match we had a wee presentation ceremony in the clubhouse with special guests Breadan Quigley, Alan Grant, Niall McCallion and Donna Mc Closkey presenting the medals. A huge thank you to them all. A Special thanks to Conor Collins for providing the entertainment. I'll never get the hang of editing or any craic like that, so apologies for missing out some stuff. Thankfully Gerry has caught the whole thing on video. Whenever you are feeling down just stick it on and I promise you it will bring a smile to your face. The recording cut off before the end (my fault of course) missing a very important message. That is to vote for your Sainsburys charity of the year. Watch Gerry's video, then lend your vote to the wonderful Foyle Down Syndrome Trust. Voting is open from Monday 11th June 2018 - Sunday 24th June 2018. Votes can be cast by calling into Sainsbury's on the Strand Road or by visiting: www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk Na Magha Abu

  • Episode 37: Hugh Breslin

4 DEC 2017 · Ok ok ok, so we might have fooled you into listening to this episode. Here's Hugh Breslin demystifying the National Draw. You've all had your draw sheets. Here's what happens next. It's not lost on anyone the number of times we go to the well. The national draw is a chance to widen that burden and hit on a greater number of vict..... generous donors. We'll start getting your draw sheets back in after the Christmas break. Again, your continued generosity is greatly appreciated. We do touch on what life was like PNME (Pre Na Magha Era... which is how time will be defined in the future) just to give you a wee taster of what's to come. Thank you Hugh.... maybe next time I'll get a photo!

Episode 33: The Green, White & Black Velvet Band

24 NOV 2017 · BONUS: A wee bonus podcast from the Na Magha seisún. I've had to mark this as explicit as my frustration at not being able to work this machine properly manifested itself in a category A curse word that just snuck in at the end... i trust this won't spoil your enjoyment.

  • Episode 32: Seisún

24 NOV 2017 · On the evening of 23 November 2017 the beautiful Pairc Na Magha played host to our inaugural Na Magha seisùn. On behalf of all those in attendance a huge thank you to all those who came along and played a part and a special thank you to those who organised it. A great initiative to help bring people together. We are fortunate to have a magnificent club house in a magnificent setting and nights like this make it all the more special.

  • Episode 31: The Kids Are Alright

4 NOV 2017 · In this noisy episode of TWLRNMP we have a chat with a raucous bunch of young Camogs and a young Hurler. We start with Shannon Lynch who tells us about her start as a young camog....noncommital as to who her favourite coach is (which could cause problems in the house). She gives some sage advice to the seniors ahead of the final. Enjoy it and never give up. Then we get Kaitlyn Lynch who perhaps more wisely tells us who her favourite coach is. We learn what she wants to be when she grows up and how wonderful it is to see Kilkenny lose (ok, i made that last bit up). We hear from Sean Owen McKay who doesn't want to tell us much about anything.... but he does tell us who he thinks will win on Sunday. We hear (again!) from Sophie Luffman who controversially reveals who her favourite player is. We also learn what Eddie Nash calls her Daddy, Dougie. Lastly, we hear a message to the seniors from all the kids..... One echoed by us all.... "GOOD LUCK AND WIN THE MATCH".

  • Episode 19. Raymond McKenna. Na Magha

14 OCT 2017 · 'Sappnin podcasters. Today we bring to you our club secretary Raymond McKenna. We spoke with Raymond ahead of the latest meeting of the Na Magha executive committee. The executive is elected at our AGM which is held in November each year. It's open to all club members to have their say on how the club is run. Raymond tells us of his experiences since taking up the post of secretary. A busy and difficult role in any club. Raymond tells of the trip to Croke Park for All Ireland Camogie finals day, the wonderful experience that was for our kids and how they may carry those experiences in their sporting journey. This episode gets podcastbombed (it's a word i made up... but you'll indtinctively know what i mean) by our chairman who incredibly managed to remain silent..... If you want to know how the club is run, and perhaps how you may contribute, our constitution is available and open for examination at any time. Listen right to the end for some important messages! Thanks Raymond.
