  • Canelo Alvarez puts on a clinic against Charlo in easy win

1 OCT 2023 · Canelo Alvarez (60-2-2) delivered a masterclass performance on a spectacular night in Las Vegas, living up to his promise to make a resounding statement. Facing off against Jermell Charlo (35-2-1) , Alvarez showcased his exceptional skills and dominance, ultimately securing a unanimous decision victory (119-108, 118-109, 118-109) to defend his undisputed super middleweight title. From the opening bell, Alvarez dictated the tempo and positioning of the fight, leaving Charlo with little room to maneuver. The Mexican boxing sensation consistently forced Charlo against the ropes, where he unleashed a barrage of devastating power punches, with a notable emphasis on targeting the body—a strategy that Alvarez had meticulously crafted during his training camp. The crowning moment of the bout came in the seventh round when Alvarez scored the sole knockdown of the fight. This pivotal moment further solidified his control over the match and left no doubt about his supremacy in the ring. Canelo Alvarez‘s performance against Charlo not only retained his undisputed super middleweight title but also underscored his status as one of the most formidable and skilled fighters in the world of boxing.

  • Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford Who Wins_

27 MAY 2023 · boxingnews #errolspencejr #terrancecrawford #boxing Big Q recaps the the latest news on Terrance Crawford & Errol Spence Jr. Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. have agreed to a deal to fight for the undisputed welterweight championship on July 29 at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, sources tell ESPN. Crawford (38-0, 29 KO) holds the WBO title, which he won in June 2018 with a knockout of Jeff Horn. He has successfully defended his title six times, most recently defeating Avanesyan. Crawford has also held world titles at lightweight and light welterweight in his career. Spence (28-0, 22 KO) holds the IBF, WBC and WBA world titles at 147 pounds. The WBA belt is the newest to his collection, with Spence picking it up with a knockout win over Yordenis Ugas in April. He first became champion in May 2017 with a win over Kell Brook. A win over Porter in September 2019 gave Spence the WBC belt. One of the longest-talked-about fights in boxing is finally coming together as welterweight champions Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford are set for a massive four-belt unification on July 29 in Las Vegas, both fighters announced on Thursday. The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and air live on Showtime PPV. Spence and Crawford are two of the elite pound-for-pound fighters in the sport and their presence in the same division has led to years of demand for the two to clash and determine the top fighter at 147 pounds. As happens so often, boxing’s political games got in the way of it happening as Crawford was signed to Top Rank while Spence was part of Premier Boxing Champions‘ deep roster of welterweights. • Haney Totally Outclasses Kambosos for Lightweight Unification Reaction + Post Fight Interviews

7 JUN 2022 · Big Q recaps the Devin Haney VS George Kambosos lightweight unification bout. Haney totally outclasses Kambosos for Lightweight Supremacy. (Summary) Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) used his excellent jab to dictate the pace en route to the win via scores of 116-112, 118-110 and 116-112. Now, the 23-year-old from Las Vegas owns all four 135-pound titles after the dominant performance against ESPN’s No. 1 lightweight. Kambosos, a 28-year-old from Sydney, Australia, can choose to exercise his contractual right to an immediate rematch with Haney later this year in Australia. Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) won the titles in November when he dethroned Teofimo Lopez Jr. in ESPN’s upset of the year. He floored Lopez in Round 1 and survived a knockdown in Round 10 to earn the split-decision victory. • Fight Week: George Kambosos vs. Devin Haney Preview

31 MAY 2022 · Big Q previews the major lightweight unification bout between George Kambosos & Devin Haney. (Summary) This is one of the best-possible matchups in the 135-pound division. Kambosos is coming off the victory of his life, a split decision over previously unbeaten and favored Teofimo Lopez to win all four major titles and become king of the division this past November. Kambosos, 28, is a rugged boxer-puncher who will have the advantage of fighting on his home soil, although he’s from Sydney. The globetrotter hasn’t fought in Australia since 2017, eight fights ago. Haney has already had several high-profile fights but this is an enormous opportunity for him. The native of San Francisco has convincingly outpointed in succession Yuriorkis Gamboa, Jorge Linares and Joseph Diaz Jr., an impressive run. The Diaz fight took place in December. Haney is only 23 but has more experience than Kambosos when you add up amateur and pro fights, a reported 173 to 120. He also has a deeper pro resume. And Haney is probably the more skillful of the two, which is why he’s a slight favorite. The WBC designates Haney as its lightweight champion but Boxing Junkie recognizes Kambosos, the “franchise” belt holder, as the true champ. • Gervonta Davis TKO’s Rolly Romero IN 6

30 MAY 2022 · Big Q recaps the Tank Davis VS Rolly Romero match up. (Summary) For nearly all of the first six rounds of his bout with Gervonta “Tank” Davis, Rolando Romero fought a disciplined fight, using his reach and jab to keep Davis from doing much offensively. It only takes one punch from Davis to change a fight, however, and in Round 6, it ended with a thud. Romero opened by pawing with the jab, using it as both a range finder and deterrent to Davis’ attempts to get inside and land his trademark left hands and uppercuts. That strategy was working well for Romero as the rounds went by, with Davis circling around the ring looking for opportunities to land rather than unloading and controlling the action. Romero also bent the rules nearly to the point of breaking, utilizing his elbows repeatedly as well as throwing Davis to the canvas after landing a clean right hand in the second round. He received several warnings from the referee though no point was taken for the repeated fouls. Romero seemed to feel he had the right moment to amp up his attack in the sixth round as he pursued Davis to the ropes and looked to unload with his wild power punches. Davis calmly let loose with a left hand counter that caught Romero clean and sent him face first into the ropes before sliding down to the canvas. • Deontay Wilder says he will continue boxing career: ‘I can’t stop right here’

30 MAY 2022 · Big Q covers the latest on former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. After losing his trilogy bout to Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder’s future in boxing seemed unsure. At the unveiling of a bronze statue of the fighter in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Wednesday, Wilder made it clear that he still intends to return to the ring. “I can’t stop right here,” Wilder said at the statue’s unveiling. “I must continue my journey. I have to, I have to.” Wilder made his professional debut in November 2008 and quickly established himself as the best and most exciting American heavyweight of his generation. Wilder won his first 40 fights, all but one by knockout, showing himself to be one of the biggest punchers in the history of the sport. The lone decision win in those first 40 fights came against Bermane Stiverne in a bout where Wilder won the WBC championship in 2015. He would go on to defend the title a total of 10 times.
