3 MAY 2024 · PATIENT IN TRIALS Deu 8.1-4 (NKJV) ¹ "Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. ² And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. ³ So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. ⁴ Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years.

30 APR 2024 · "As We Grow Older": Psalm 71:9-14, Proverbs 20:29 As we grow older, our lives undergo significant changes. Our bodies may not be as strong as they once were, our energy levels may wane, and our roles in life may shift. But despite these changes, our worth and purpose remain unchanged. In fact, as we grow older, we have the opportunity to grow wiser, more compassionate, and more grace-filled. In Psalm 71, the psalmist writes, "Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone" (v. 9). This prayer acknowledges the natural decline that comes with aging, but also expresses a deep trust in God's continued presence and care. In Proverbs 20:29, we read, "The glory of the young is their strength, but the gray hair of experience is the splendor of the old." This verse reminds us that age brings its own unique beauty and dignity. Our experiences, our wisdom, and our character are refined and polished over time, making us more radiant and more lovely in God's sight. What happens when we grow older? We will start getting weak What we used to do before, we will not have that time nor strength Our health will be fading away Diverse challenges will come with old age Restrictions as per our diets will surface. What have you done with your youthful days? As we grow older, may we embrace the opportunities to: - Share our wisdom and experience with others - Pray for and support those around us - Trust in God's continued guidance and care - Find joy and contentment in our present season - Grow in grace and compassion, becoming more like Christ May God bless us as we grow older, and may we honor Him in every stage of our lives.

29 APR 2024 · "The Uncertainty of Life" Text: James 4:13-15 "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit'; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that'." James is addressing the tendency to presume upon the future, forgetting that our lives are but a brief, fleeting moment. He reminds us that: 1. Our plans and control are illusions (Proverbs 16:9; 19:21) 2. Life is uncertain and transitory (Psalm 39:5; 1 Peter 1:24) 3. God's sovereignty and will are the only constants (Isaiah 46:10; Matthew 10:29-30) James encourages us to: 1. Humble ourselves and acknowledge God's control 2. Submit our plans to His will (Matthew 6:10; 1 John 2:17) 3. Live with gratitude and dependence on Him May we embrace the uncertainty of life with faith in the certainty of God's love and guidance.

28 APR 2024 · "This is Eternal Life" Text: John 17:3 In John 17:3, Jesus defines eternal life in a way that might surprise us. He says, "This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." According to Jesus, eternal life is not just about living forever; it's about knowing God. Eternal life is not just a quantity of years, but a quality of relationship. It's not just about existing forever, but about living in intimate connection with our Creator. Jesus says that knowing God and knowing himself is the very essence of eternal life. But what does it mean to know God? It means to experience His love, His grace, and His presence in our lives. It means to trust in His goodness, His wisdom, and His power. It means to seek Him with all our hearts, to listen for His voice, and to follow His guidance. As we walk with God, we begin to see the world through His eyes. We see the beauty of creation, the value of every human life, and the hope of redemption. We see the depth of our own sin and the breadth of His mercy. We see the temporary nature of this life and the eternal nature of the next. And as we know God, we begin to experience eternal life. We taste the joy of heaven, the peace of His presence, and the freedom of forgiveness. We find purpose in our lives, meaning in our struggles, and hope in our darkness. So let us seek to know God, to love Him with all our hearts, and to live in His presence. Let us embrace eternal life, not just as a future destination, but as a present reality. For in knowing God, we find the very essence of eternal life. May the Lord help us to seek Him earnestly to know Him better in Christ name, Amen.

18 APR 2024 · WHAT HAVE YOU BROUGHT FOR THE LORD? Isaiah 53.1-5 Oftentimes, many of us have been asked this question whenever we return from a trip, be it a long or short trip. Some of the times we do our best to present something presentable to those we are meeting either for the first time or those we just can't stop giving. However, we are posed with same question concerning our relationship with the Savior who sought and bought us even while we were still helpless and sinners (Romans 5.6,8), dead in our trespasses (Ephesians 2.1-2), "What have you brought for the Lord? (Acts 6.9). A lot of times we do sang these pledging and thoughtful songs in worship, but then how often do we internalize the messages? (1 Corinthians 14.15). I want to believe that it was the Lord himself, using it as a reminder to help us allow this song to resonates in us His precious sacrifice. He gave His all for us. He died that we might live. He took and accepted the shame and hate made for us, the chastisements and cruelty, so that we can be loved. He received our stripes and reproach on His body so that we will be healed and made whole. Why not choose to bring your all, body, soul and spirit to Jesus Christ this moment just as you are. Jesus gave His all for you (Mark 10.45), some brought back shame and re-crucifixion through their conducts. Let us ask ourselves this sincere question, "He gave His all for me, what have I given to Him?" "He brought everything for me, what have I brought to Him?" Not a soul, not a transformation. May we create the avenue for spiritual songs such as this to resonates His precious sacrifice for us. “He died to rescue us from God’s wrath because we could never pay the massive debt we owed to the Father.” Bring something for the Lord today.
