In addition, Admiral Foggo also talks about exercise BALTOPS and recent operations in the Black Sea!

4 JUN 2020 · In this episode, Admiral Foggo talks about how the U.S. Navy sailed in waters it hasn't sailed into for 35 years and he saves the best for last, a conversation with Mr. Jim "Hondo" Geurts, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisitions. The two leaders discuss present and future technologies that will help the Navy face any adversary or challenge we face like COVID-19.

Foggo III, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa (CNE-CNA) discusses the global health crisis stemming from COVID-19, how this is impacting our host nation, Italy, and affecting Europe. In addition, Edward Graham, the grandson of the Rev. Billy Graham, joins us on the show to discuss what the American NGO Samaritan's Purse is doing here in Italy to fight against the Corona Virus.

9 MAR 2020 · In the 16th episode of “On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theaters,” Adm. James G. Foggo III, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa (CNE-CNA) invited General David Petraeus, retired, as his guest. The discussion between the two men centered on both of their fathers’ involvements in World War II. Topics ranged from transatlantic passages in Nazi U-boat-infested waters to crawling through battlefields fighting for Europe’s survival. In addition, the two four-stars discussed the transatlantic bridge and the importance of the U.S. and its allies keeping the Atlantic free for commerce and mutual prosperity. They connected the past to the present by discussing Exercise Defender Europe 2020, an Army-led exercise that involves the largest deployment of U.S. troops from the continental U.S. to Europe. During this exercise, there is a significant maritime role in convoy escort operations. The podcast provided key insights to the multi-generational joint operations of the Army and Navy, and the Joint U.S. role within NATO.

3 FEB 2020 · In the 15th episode of “On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theaters,” Adm. James G. Foggo III, discussed naval activities in the European theater, and the strategic significance of Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, Spain. The podcast featured its second-ever guest and was recorded for the first time while Foggo was on travel. Foggo invited Cmdr. Kelley Jones, CO of USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) to discuss the importance of forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF) to Europe and the special relationship the U.S. Navy has with the Spanish Armada. The episode was recorded aboard Donald Cook, while pierside in Rota, Spain.

13 DEC 2019 · In the 14th episode of “On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theaters,” Adm. James G. Foggo III, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa (CNE-CNA), discussed what the U.S. Navy has been doing throughout Europe and Africa over the past year. He highlighted key events from dual carrier operations, to the ABC submarine embark, to seeing the predictions made in his article “Fourth Battle of the Atlantic,” co-written with Dr. Alarik Fritz in 2016, play out these last few months of 2019.

6 NOV 2019 · In the 13th episode of “On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theaters,” Adm. Foggo discusses US Navy operations in the Arctic, BlackSea, and Mediterranean Sea including ABC News David Muir embark aboard submarine USS Florida. He talks about the recent Combined Force Maritime Component Command (CFMCC) course, the new Chief of Naval Operations’ (CNO) visit to Rota, Spain, and Naples, Italy, and his participation in the Regional Seapower Symposium, hosted by the Italian Navy in Venice.

4 OCT 2019 · In the 12th episode of “On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theater” podcast, Adm. James G. Foggo III highlights his trip to Paris, France and his time with the Baltic Chiefs of Defense during their visit to his headquarters. Additionally we heard from CNE-CNA Fleet Master Chief Derrick Walters concerning CNE-CNA newly pinned chief petty officers.

12 AUG 2019 · Admiral Foggo released the 11th episode of his podcast “On the Horizon: Navigating the European and African Theater.” During this episode, Foggo discusses his thoughts on exercise Sea Breeze 2019, his recent trip to Ghana, Gulf of Guinea, and Africa Partnership Station. In addition, he brought on two guests: U.S. Navy Seal, Fleet Master Chief Walters and LS1 Tabsoba who is originally from Ghana.
