Meningitis can infect anyone, it's most commonly found in younger people, from babies, infants, to young adults.
If left untreated it can potentially cause septicaemia, a condition where bacteria enters the bloodstream, and causes blood poisoning.
These bacteria react and respond negatively to infection and can cause life-threatening outcomes.
