Magical Mystery Talk - episode 9, number 9, number 9, number 9 - A Whole Load to Talk About

22 DEC 2023 · As ‘Magical Mystery Talk’ co-host Mark Devlin says in his opening intro to this latest episode of the podcast series, there’s a whole load to talk about. Indeed there was. Welcome to episode nine - number nine, number nine, number nine… - of Magical Mystery Talk, and of all the events and happenings of a Beatles-related nature that occurred in 2023 and that’s talked about and analysed from an occult/conspiratorial angle in this instalment, the most momentous is (you most probably won’t be surprised to hear) the release of ‘Now and Then,’ the so-called new and “last ever Beatles song” that was assisted into existence by AI, controversially piecing together the long-deceased John Lennon and George Harrison onto what one might perceive to be a virtual reunion. Desiree and I focus in on many of the aspects surrounding the creation and the release of this song whether it be the controversy that greeted its arrival thanks to its reliance on the use of artificial intelligence, or the occult elements that, quite possibly, are also attached to it, including the artwork for the cover of the physical release of the song. In this episode of Magical Mystery Talk that Mark - with the exception of his opening intro - has stepped back from, thanks to his very busy schedule at the time of recording it, Desiree and I also talk about a number of new books that have been released since the last time we spoke in January 2023, including ‘Dead Groovy,’ which takes a look at the life, career and suicide - or was it murder - of David Jacobs who, during the 1960s, was lawyer for The Beatles and the band’s manager Brian Epstein, who was also his friend. Also published was ‘Living the Beatles Legend: The Untold Story of Mal Evans,’ a biography about one of the group’s most trusted inner circle. He was their roadie, their gofer, their constant welcome presence, and a productive asset in some of the sounds that were written and also created in the recording-studio by one or more of the Beatles and/or their artists on their ‘Apple’ label. He too, same as Jacobs, met a suspicious end to his life, dying violently from police gunfire, four years before John Lennon was shot, and his death too is mentioned by me and Desiree given that yet another book out in 2023 is ‘Mind Games: The Assassination of John Lennon,’ authored by TV producer and researcher, David Whelan. As you might be aware, I posted up an interview with him some weeks prior to the release of this ninth episode of Magical Mystery Talk, and it’shttps://www.spreaker.com/user/mattconspiro/a-chat-with-david-whelan-author-of-forth. Elsewhere, Paul McCartney’s daughter, Stella, has been flying the flag for so-called ‘climate change’ - yet again, as has her friend Phoebe Gates, daughter of Bill Gates - yes, you read that right(!). George Harrison’s son, Dhani, released an album in 2023 featuring lyrics of a Magical Mystery Talk flavour, it would appear, and towards the end of the year there was the passing of musician and singer/songwriter, Denny Laine, former member of the band Wings. All this is discussed plus a lot, lot more. There truly, really was much to talk about, and weaving in and out of a large chunk of it is P.i.D. - which Ringo has had something to say about in 2023! · This episode of Magical Mystery Talk was recorded on December 18th 2023

  • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 8 - 2022: A Year in the Life

23 JAN 2023 · There was a lot that myself, Mark and Desiree agreed had to be covered in this episode of Magical Mystery Talk, which is an episode reviewing Beatles-related events, news and happenings from 2022… With the ‘rona still being in the news during 2022, you perhaps won’t be surprised to learn that it gets some attention in this episode (and as it has in previous editions), with the spotlight in this regard being set on the Starkeys - as in Ringo Starr (his birth-name being: Richard Starkey, of course) and his bass-playing grand-daughter, Tatia. According to media reports in March last year, she was fined £440 by a court in London for breaking England’s lockdown rules in February 2021. Reportedly, on being handed the fine, she asked the judge if it could be waived in the light of particular misdemeanours committed by the then-British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson! Find out what she is reported to have been referring to, by listening to this episode. Her ex-Beatle - and jabbed - grand-father meanwhile found himself having to put a halt to his live concert tour of North America and Canada during ’22 because of the ‘rona. Elsewhere… The other pervading news-event of 2022 was of course the situation between Ukraine and Russia, and in April, John Lennon’s son, Julian, released his own online version of perhaps his father’s best-known solo song, ‘Imagine,’ in a reply to the tensions, and was performed in conjunction with ‘Stand Up for Ukraine,’ a campaign organised by ‘Global Citizen,’ an organisation that has, over the years, received support from names that might make your eyebrows rise with suspicion, names including Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau, French President (and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yUYOq2oyAY fan) Emmanuel Macron, as well as Bill and Melinda Gates (to name some). During this episode of Magical Mystery Talk, I look into all of this briefly, and myself and Desiree call out signs of possible hypocrisy over news last year that Paul McCartney has axed a song from his live setlist that had, up to that point, been a staple in his concert-shows, that being ‘Back in the USSR,’ originally released with The Beatles in 1968. According to “a source” in one particular media report, “the song is such a massive crowd favourite but with the horrors unfolding in Ukraine, it was a simple decision by Paul to make. It would be perverse to be singing a jaunty Rock ‘n’ Roll song about Russia. Paul couldn’t in all conscience sing those lyrics when so many are being brutally massacred at the hands of Russia.” McCartney was also seen waving the flag of Ukraine whilst on stage with his band last year during his ‘Got Back’ concert-tour. So why the possible hypocrisy? Well, for example, as both Desiree and I point out, when ‘Back in the USSR’ was originally recorded and released, a number of countries were suffering at the hands of the Soviet Union - and so, what’s the difference between then and now? Paul’s last live date of 2022 took place in June, it was his headline appearance at the massive Glastonbury Festival in the village of Pilton in the English county of Somerset. From what I understand, his long-time support-DJ played a set there as well, a guy by the name of Chris Holmes, whose apparent interest in esotericism/the occult is talked about during this edition of Magical Mystery Talk. As for the magickal, there’s no doubting the fact that his wife, Melinda Lee Holm, is closely connected with that, as I highlight in this episode. She’s described herself as a “professional witch,” and she is also friends with George Harrison’s widow, Olivia. Also, Desiree and I mention a couple of pics of Chris and his wife that can be found on social-media, and that you can also view at at the following page at my site, 'The Occult Beatles': https://theoccultbeatles.wordpress.com/2023/01/23/magical-mystery-talk-episode-8-2022-a-year-in-the-life/ I also mention Chris’s association with the film-director and self-described disciple of Aleister Crowley, Kenneth Anger. Crowley also gets a mention during mine and Desiree’s and Mark’s nod to the 1966 Beatles album ‘Revolver’ which was re-released in deluxe box-set form in 2022. I go into some length about some of the other titles that were discussed as possibles for this selection of songs by the band back in ‘66, titles with an occultic nature. I also go in quite deep into the inspirations (and possible social-engineered reasons) behind one of the LP’s tracks, ‘Tomorrow Never Knows.’ Also talked about during this episode of Magical Mystery Talk, Stella McCartney’s involvement with the ‘climate change’ event ‘COP,’ the ongoing imprisonment of Lennon’s said assassin, Mark David Chapman - and - an article released in December 2022 by ‘Rolling Stone,’ the decades-old mainstream music-news and articles source. You can read a version of it in the link below. Apparently, so it suggests rather boldly, to be into Beatles-related occult/conspiratorial areas of research, is to be a Right-wing, ‘QAnon’-supporting, tin-foil hat-wearing nut-job: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/qanon-followers-arguing-beatles-were-225501555.html?guccounter=1 This episode of Magical Mystery Talk was recorded on January 16th 2023

  • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 7 - Conspiracies

4 MAR 2022 · In this edition of ‘Magical Mystery Talk,’ that was recorded at the end of February 2022, Mark, Desiree and myself touch on and talk about yet more Beatles-related topical news-items that have been doing the rounds, and in this episode, we’re playing a bit of catch-up as it’s been a while since the three of us met together for the last episode that was published – that was back in July 2021. In May of that year there was the premiere of the feature-length documentary ‘The Beatles and India.’ Directed by journalist Ajoy Bose, it chronicles the band’s association with Indian music, culture and also so-called ‘Eastern mysticism’ through their relationship with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi whose ashram they visited in that country in early 1968 to study Transcendental Meditation under him. The film briefly references reports that were circulating in the media at the time that he was allegedly tied to secret intelligence, namely the CIA. Mark, Desiree and myself talk about these allegations and I expand further mentioning others over the years who’ve expressed similar views about him and who’ve also suggested that he may have been planted into the 1960s ‘counter-culture’ scene in order to act as a means of distracting young dissenters of the Vietnam War away from protesting against it effectively. Also, given that The Beatles are considered to have introduced and effectively popularised meditation in the so-called ‘West,’ were they also willing (or unwilling) agents in bringing about this suspected nullification of the protest movement as part of a malevolent social engineering exercise? Also released last year was the two-volume book-set ‘Paul McCartney - The Lyrics’ which is McCartney looking back and discussing some of his song lyrics dating from as early as the late 1950s through to The Beatles, Wings, and right into almost present-day. In some respects, it’s a part-biography and memoirs, and he takes quite a swipe and a dig at John Lennon in one section of it, criticising his former song-partner’s thinking behind his hit song, ‘Happy Xmas (War is Over).’ In this edition of Magical Mystery Talk, I read some small, brief extracts from this new release including Paul’s criticism of his former song-partner of which the above I’ve mentioned is just a small portion. Last year also saw the publishing of a new, updated version of ‘The Memoirs of Billy Shears,’ the alleged autobiography of Paul McCartney’s double/replacement who took on the role after the ‘real’ one was killed in 1966. When it was originally released a few years earlier, it featured a foreword from none other than Beatles music-producer George Martin’s eldest son, Gregory, who also narrated the audio-book version. Over the last year or so, he’s been openly critical and scathing towards what he deems to be the ‘Corona scam,’ most notably on his ‘Twitter’ page where he’s expressed his disapproval of mask-wearing, the jab, and so-called ‘vaccine passports,’ as well as hitting out at the likes of the US President’s chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci, his British equivalent Chris Whitty, former British Health Secretary Matt Hancock, Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Canada’s Premiere Justin Trudeau. He’s also had some views to express, and perspectives, to share on Bono, Mick Jagger, and will.i.am. All this gets talked about in this seventh episode of Magical Mystery Talk as well as reports that a feud between Gregory and his famous music-producer father resulted in him being left out of his dad’s Will following his passing in 2016. Were the son’s ‘alternative,’ conspiratorially-minded views on world events a possible cause of this? Also in 2021 there was the release of a new promotional-video to a version of the Paul McCartney track ‘Find My Way,’ a new version as remixed by US music-artist Beck. Not surprisingly, the promo’s gained quite a bit of attention amongst the ‘Paul is Dead’ community given that it’s largely made up of deep-fakery featuring as it does the singer-songwriter’s elderly face rejigged and manipulated to make him look like the much younger and mop-topped ‘Beatle Paul’ circa 1964/’65. This certainly isn’t the first time McCartney has featured doubles and multiples in his music-videos, and it’s a topic Mark, Desiree and myself have talked about in a previous episode of Magical Mystery Talk, and we discuss it here in this instalment too, as we do Paul’s 2020 album ‘McCartney III’ from which Find My Way was originally released. I and my fellow co-hosts discuss the cover-art of it for possible ‘Paul is Dead’ clues and also dip back to its predecessors ‘McCartney II’ (released in 1980) and ‘McCartney’ (released in 1970) for the same reason. So please, join us for this episode to hear all about the above and a lot more. Magical Mystery Talk - episode 6 - Agendas: Future, Present and Past

23 JUL 2021 · As the world continues to be gripped by the Corona drama, it’s perhaps no surprise that the sixth episode of ‘Magical Mystery Talk,’ this topical delve into the occult/conspiratorial aspects of The Beatles’ world, should include elements of this. My fellow co-hosts, Desiree Hall (of the Beatles/occult/conspiracy site 'TheNumberNine' blog), author and campaigner Mark Devlin and myself discuss reports of Paul McCartney’s apparent distaste for those of us who refuse to wear masks or to take the jab, meanwhile his daughter, Stella, was walking around the G7 Summit in Cornwall, England earlier in June this year not wearing one, as were (to my eyes at least) none of the Prime Ministers and Presidents who were there for this once-yearly meet-up… You might call that out as hypocrisy. So, why was clothes designer Stella at the G7 you might ask? Well, she was apparently invited to attend by none other than Prince Charles in order to discuss ‘the green question’ with high-ranking politicians and a reported total of about 300 CEOs of large companies. Whilst she was there, she told the media that the fashion industry was “one of the most polluting in the world” and needed to change its ways, and her aim at the Summit was to push this ahead, “to drive change.” During the podcast, I ask, did she attend this annual meeting with a genuine desire to heal the planet of its pollution, or was she there with a darker intention? For example, the so-called ‘green question’ is being used as a means of driving through the dreaded ‘Agenda 2030.’ Elsewhere, another of the Beatles’ offspring - Sean Lennon - has been Tweeting his apparent lack of support for the so-called ‘woke’ culture and the ideas behind ‘Black Lives Matter’ and the recent drive towards the ‘cancelling’ of historical figures and buildings and monuments that have been connected to the Black slave trade. Myself, Desiree and Mark consider these Tweets as well as some others of a similar vein that have been posted by John’s youngest son and I mention some other comments of his that should leave no one in any doubt that he’s aware of the ‘New World Order.’ Meanwhile, the first half of 2021 saw the re-release of Sean’s dad’s first post-Beatles solo album, ‘John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band,’ originally issued in 1970. As Yoko Ono has said, the songs on it were as a result of Primal Therapy, a method of psychiatric treatment that he and she had undergone with its leading figure, Dr Arthur Janov. Given that it’s a trauma-based form of dealing with emotional and mental baggage, in the podcast, we discuss a subject that we’ve talked about in a past episode, and that’s the possibility that John was a victim of Mind Kontrol. Also, during this episode of Magical Mystery Talk we look back at some of the many controversial episodes in the life of Phil Spector who died earlier this year whilst serving a prison-sentence for the murder in 2003 of sometime movie-actress Lana Clarkson. The well-revered but infamous music-producer was well connected to the world of the Beatles having produced their 1970 album ‘Let It Be’ plus a number of their early solo releases including George Harrison’s 1973 LP, ‘Living in the Material World,’ the sessions for which were, reportedly, blighted by tensions thanks to the drinking that was going on away from the studio by Phil. I mention this a tiny bit during the podcast as well as the tense circumstances heaped upon Lennon during the recording of his 1970s Rock and Roll covers album (that Spector was brought in to produce). Also mentioned, Spector’s love of guns, which ultimately resulted in his imprisonment after he was found guilty of shooting Clarkson dead. • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 5 (BONUS EDITION) - John Lennon's Murder, 40 Years On -

15 DEC 2020 · This is the Bonus Edition of ‘John Lennon’s Murder, 40 Years On,’ the second of two ‘Magical Mystery Talk’ instalments looking in to the shooting of the former Beatle back in December 1980… In this Bonus Edition, myself and my fellow Magical Mystery Talk host Desiree Hall (of the occult/conspiratorial Beatles site, ‘The Number Nine’ blog) take a deeper dive into a number of the aspects surrounding the killing that have either been ignored and not reported by the mainstream media or are at odds with the general, ‘official’ version of events that it has continued to trumpet for decades. As has been mentioned in the first part of the two instalments of this Magical Mystery Talk showcase into the Lennon shooting, there are numerous inconsistencies, contradictions and seeming anomalies with the so-called ‘official’ narrative. Listen to this Bonus Edition (that, incidentally, fellow Magical Mystery Talk co-host Mark Devlin has been unable to take part in), and you’ll hear Desiree and I delve deep into a few more of these inconsistencies, contradictions and seeming anomalies, such as the long-running tag-line that’s always been attached to Mark David Chapman, the man currently in prison for shooting Lennon, that he is a ‘Beatles crazed nut’ and a ‘loner.’ There’s also some questions to ask about what exactly went on at the hospital where the bloodied Lennon was taken to be resuscitated following the shooting. Also, in this bonus edition, there’s quite a bit of focus on the possibility that Chapman may well have been mind-controlled (MK’ed) in order to come face to face with Lennon on that December night in 1980. Join Desiree and I in this deep dive where you can hear about all that and much, much more. • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 4 (part 1) - John Lennon's Murder, 40 Years On

8 DEC 2020 · To coincide with forty years having now passed since the shooting of John Lennon, in this fourth edition of ‘Magical Mystery Talk,’ Mark, myself and Desiree shine a spotlight on this event and discuss a number of the inconsistencies, contradictions and seeming anomalies in the official narrative as trumpeted by the mainstream media. In this fourth edition of Magical Mystery Talk – and which is actually the first of two special instalments looking into the Lennon murder (the second ‘bonus edition’ of these two instalments is to be released soon), Mark, Desiree and I talk a little about the background of Mark David Chapman, the man currently serving a life sentence for the shooting and the possibility that he was actually a CIA-backed/Mind Controlled ‘patsy.’ For example, there’s his connections as a young man to the Christian-heavy organisations the YMCA and World Vision - both of which have been tied by researchers to the CIA. Also discussed and up for question are the seemingly contradictory first-hand accounts of how exactly the shooting took place on that night back on December 8th 1980, and is it possible that – actually – Chapman wasn’t the shooter? Were there other gunmen present there that night? Also mentioned during this instalment, the links to the attempted assassination in early 1981 of then-US President Ronald Reagan, the rather shady background of the Chief Medical Examiner in charge at the time of Lennon’s autopsy, the doorman Jose Perdomo (and his alleged CIA links), and more. • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 3 - Different Versions

29 JUL 2020 · Among the topics discussed by Desiree, Mark and myself in Part 3 of this podcast series, the seeming contradictions in the mainstream narrative surrounding what was deemed to be the recent fiftieth anniversary date of the break-up of The Beatles, April 1970, a date which was also the date of the release of Paul McCartney’s first solo album proper, ‘McCartney.’ The LP came, at the time, enclosed with a question & answer sheet prepared by the group’s trusted PR man, Derek Taylor and it’s this that prompted the subsequent newspaper headlines stating that the band was over. However - from that Q & A - see for yourself just below here, do the quotes spell out the split of the group? Because, they don’t to me: Q: “Are you planning a new album or single with The Beatles?” PAUL: “No.” Q: “Is this album a rest away from the Beatles or the start of a solo career?” PAUL: “Time will tell. Being a solo album means it’s ‘the start of a solo career…’ and not being done with the Beatles means it’s just a rest. So it’s both.” Q: “Is your break with The Beatles temporary or permanent, due to personal differences or musical ones?” PAUL: “Personal differences, business differences, musical differences, but most of all because I have a better time with my family. Temporary or permanent? I don’t really know.” Q: “Do you foresee a time when Lennon-McCartney becomes an active song-writing partnership again?” PAUL: “No.” As I’ve attempted to explain in a past article on my site, 'The Occult Beatles,' there is a distinct possibility that, actually, the break-up was the unintended result of an uncontrollable sequence of events affecting all the members of the band. This is discussed in the third instalment of Magical Mystery Talk and also how it may have tied into at least two not-so-widely-reported attempts during the 1970s, and into 1980, for a reunion between Lennon and McCartney and, ultimately, The Beatles as a whole, but that were scuppered under dark circumstances. Also discussed during this latest edition of Magical Mystery Talk, the recent passing of German photographer Astrid Kircherr, who played a key role in the early development of the pre-fame Beatles when they were performing in the clubs of Hamburg and (as you’ll most probably know) she was romantically involved with one of the music-group’s earliest members, Stuart Sutcliffe, John’s fellow Liverpool friend who died aged just 21 in 1962. Very little is known about her life, with the exception, to some extent, of her times with the band back in those early days, but it would appear also that she was the main inspiration for the front-cover photo of the band’s second album, ‘With The Beatles,’ a picture that was taken by Robert Freeman and is an especially interesting image if looked at from an occult/esoteric perspective given that we see John, Paul, George and Ringo looking at us with one eye each, and there’s also the possible symbology pertaining to duality what with it having been shot in black and white. In Magical Mystery Talk Pt.3, Desiree, Mark and myself also mention recent Beatles-related topics connected to ‘Black Lives Matter’ and how there’s been apparent attempts by at least one so-called ‘activist’ to co-opt John Lennon’s song ‘Imagine’ into this. We also talk about ‘Penny Lane,’ the Liverpool road made famous in song, but that has alleged connections to English Black slave-trader of the 1700s, James Penny. We also revisit the 2019 Brit movie ‘Yesterday,’ which tells the tale of an alternative world in which The Beatles have never existed (it’s also got some ‘Paul is Dead’ references in it if you ask me). In recent months there’s been reports that Richard Curtis, famous for being the screenwriter of the hit film ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral,’ and who’s credited for main writing duties on Yesterday, actually (allegedly) plagiarised this hit flick from the script of a lesser-known writer by the name of Jack Barth. In the link below, you can check out Jack’s script, the version of what, he alleges, eventually became Yesterday. It’s titled ‘Cover Version,’ and it’s radically different to Richard’s: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2lfuDDU8ewxM1laUjNCUkwtWTQ/view You can check out my aforementioned 'Beatles split/reunion' article here: https://theoccultbeatles.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/after-the-break-up-1970-1980-putting-it-back-together-again/ 'With The Beatles' album cover: https://img.culturacolectiva.com/content/2015/11/portadas-beatles-3.jpg?_ga=2.109940032.458090204.1595988079-1084366346.1595988079 My site, The Occult Beatles: https://theoccultbeatles.wordpress.com/ Check out Desiree's blog here: https://thenumbernineblog.wordpress.com/ More from Mark Devlin here: https://djmarkdevlin.blogspot.com/?m=1 This podcast was recorded July 27th 2020

  • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 2 - Things That Have Passed...

11 DEC 2019 · In ‘Part 2’ of the podcast series… Mark, Desiree and myself look back at the creations of Robert Freeman, the English photographer who died this year aged 82, and who’d shot many of The Beatles’ earliest album-covers, two of which have caught the attention of occult-clue watchers, those being 1963’s ‘With The Beatles’ (what with its ‘one-eye / black-white duality’), and 1965’s soundtrack to the movie of the same name, ‘Help!’, featuring all four Beatles dressed in skiing gear and standing with their arms positioned in Aleister Crowley-esque fashion, you might think. Recorded and released in December 2019, ‘edition 2’ of this Magical Mystery Talk podcast comes to you twenty years to the month since an attempt on George Harrison’s life was made when a ‘crazed’ intruder came into his stately home in Friar Park, England, and stabbed the ex-Beatle repeatedly in the lung. As you’ll hear during my chat with Mark and Desiree, this was by no means the first time he’d been the focus of threats of violent intent – and as recently de-classified FBI files will attest to. We also discuss the idea that the attacker, Michael Abram – who is said to have been suffering from delusions that The Beatles were witches when he invaded Harrison’s home – was yet another mind-controlled puppet same as Lennon’s assassin, Mark David Chapman. Other timely topics discussed during the second edition of this podcast include the 52nd anniversary of the screening on British TV of The Beatles’ film, ‘Magical Mystery Tour,’ the 39th of John’s shooting, and the 50th of the ‘Abbey Road’ album which was re-issued this year as a box-set to mark this, and that was named after the road where it was recorded, situated in St. John’s Wood, a West London district with Freemasonic connections. • Magical Mystery Talk - episode 1 - Yesterday Today

22 AUG 2019 · In ‘Part 1’ of the podcast series… Mark, Desiree and I discuss the recently-unleashed big-screen British film, ‘Yesterday,’ directed by English movie-maker, Danny Boyle, perhaps best known for the flicks, ‘The Beach,’ ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ and the ‘Trainspotting’ excursions. This latest release of his, the screen-play of which was written by ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ writer, Richard Curtis, centres around the exploits of a budding but struggling singer/songwriter by the name of Jack Malik who wakes up one day after some form of brief world blackout to unexpectedly find that no one has ever heard of The Beatles or their songs either, they just don’t exist. Quickly noticing that friends of his are complimenting him personally in this new reality for the quality of tunes he sings and plays on his acoustic guitar, assuming that he wrote them, such as the Lennon & McCartney standard, Yesterday, he decides to continue this on a larger scale, passing off all the band’s songs as his own and, as a result, eventually reaching the edges of international stardom. This role of Jack’s as, effectively, an impostor posing as a genius songwriter, will – and has – prompted viewers of the movie to make comparisons to the P.i.D. scenario (‘Paul is Dead’), and, perhaps, especially because Malik’s post-blackout world deception starts after he’s the victim of a road-crash. On the subject of movies, we also explore briefly some intriguing, and what folk have perceived to be (including myself), suggestive scenes and images perhaps pertaining to The Beatles and the so-called ‘Manson murders’ in a couple of old films that were released and/or shot quite a while before August 1969, the date that the killings took place in a well-to-do area of Los Angeles - 50 years ago this month of course. On viewing these, one might be tempted to think that some of them are occult, symbolic clues (predictions if you so like, or warnings) of the carnage that was to follow, a thought that might be bolstered by the fact that they both include involvement from Roman Polanski, widower of Sharon Tate, the actress who was murdered during the killing-spree by Charles Manson’s so-called ‘family’ and killings that are said to have been inspired by ‘secret messages’ he and his collective got from The Beatles’ 1968 ‘White Album’ and in particular the track from it, ‘Helter Skelter,’ which, it’s claimed, they perceived to be the announcement of an impending apocalyptic Race-war between Blacks and Whites. The films in question are the 1968 horror, ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ starring Mia Farrow and directed by Roman, and the 1969 Beatles-backed ‘The Magic Christian’ featuring Ringo Starr in a co-lead role with Peter Sellers, whose name has been linked to the events and the various characters surrounding the murders, as has actor’s, Yul Brynner, who has a brief cameo in this flick alongside Polanski whose appearance in the film is also short. Also, in mind of the Tate murders, there’s an LA flavour to taste in another subject up for discussion in the first episode of this podcast, and that’s the recent release of a new movie-documentary looking back at the reported contributions made by US bands back in the 1960s in the Los Angeles region of Laurel Canyon. Ringo has been interviewed for this film, so, Desiree, Mark and myself discuss this to an extent and ponder on the links The Beatles have had in some shape or form (and continue to have) with this location, a location that was brought to the attention of all three of us thanks to the work of the researcher, the late David McGowan and his book, ‘Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream.’ This podcast was recorded, August 19th 2019… https://theoccultbeatles.wordpress.com/ Check out Desiree's blog here: https://thenumbernineblog.wordpress.com/ More from Mark Devlin here: https://djmarkdevlin.blogspot.com/?m=1
