  • 19. Katie goes to Chile

    24 FEB 2020 · In early January, Katie participated in a Faculty Development in International Business trip to Santiago, Chile. Titled “Understanding the International Business Environment through Innovation and Sustainability in Chile,” the trip was hosted by Temple University’s Center for International Business Education and Research (“CIBER”), and Katie was able to attend the trip thanks to IU’s own CIBER program. In this episode of HTTC, Katie recaps her trip and discusses lessons she learned from an immersive experience in a developing economy. During the trip, Katie and her group visited a diverse array of businesses including: · Atlas Fresh, a fresh fruit exporter · De Martino Winery in Isla de Maipo · Sodimac, a home improvement retailer · Antofagasta, a mining company · WOM, a rising start telecommunications company (featuring IU alum Kris Brigham) · CORFO, the Chilean economic development agency in Santiago · Jet Smart, an ultra-low-cost airliner in South America​ How To Teach College explores the landscape of pedagogy at the collegiate level.
