    8 MAY 2021 · Tim graduated with a BS in Psychology from USM in 2012. In 2014 He earned his MS in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at USM as well. In 2015 Tim became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has been working with individuals with trauma and attachment disorders as well as in the brain injury population. Tim’s beautiful and intelligent wife Mary Ann is a social worker in the Bonny Eagle school district. Together they have 3 wonderful boys Wesley 11, Anthony 6, and Timmy 3.     11 FEB 2021 · Katie Grenier works for People’s United Bank as a Business Banking Relationship Manager. She has worked in commercial banking for 6 years in various positions. Her community involvement is primarily with the United Way of Greater Portland, since being a Loaned Executive in 2017. She has served as an assistant ECM (Employee Campaign Manager) for People’s United Way campaign the past two years. She has also served as a financial reviewer and has participated in the Day of Action. Other community involvement includes coaching the Scarborough High School’s freshman and junior varsity lacrosse teams from 2015-2017. Katie earned a B.A. in General Business with a concentration in Sport Management from the University of Southern Maine in 2014. She was a member of the USM women’s soccer and lacrosse teams. In her spare time, she enjoys walks with her Goldendoodle Libby, spending time with family and enjoying Maine’s beaches.   • Episode 4 - Interview with Glenn Cummings, President of USM

    25 JAN 2021 · Dr. Glenn Cummings became the 13th President of the University of Southern Maine on July 1, 2015. He served as Interim President of the University of Maine at Augusta previous to coming to USM. Beginning in 2009, Dr. Cummings served President Obama as Deputy Assistant Secretary within the U.S. Department of Education; he was part of a team that designed President Obama’s plan to boost America’s graduation rate by 2020. He also chaired the Department’s Green Initiative, which focused on increasing the teaching and learning of sustainability principles in American education. Dr. Cummings is a former Speaker of the House in the Maine House of Representatives, Majority Leader, and Chairman of the state’s Joint Committee of Education and Cultural Affairs, where he sponsored the successful bill to create the state community college system. His academic career began in Gorham, ME as a high school history teacher and department head. He served as an administrator and faculty member within the Maine Community College System and was a long-serving member of the USM faculty, most recently as an assistant professor of Educational Leadership, teaching in the masters and doctoral degree programs. Dr. Cummings obtained his Doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania where his doctoral dissertation focused on environmental sustainability in American Higher Education. He previously earned a Masters of Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Brown University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University.   • Episode 3 - Interview with Jen Burke ‘99, Public Affairs and Communications Manager at the Maine Credit Union League

    21 DEC 2020 · Jen Burke serves as the Public Affairs and Communications Manager for the Maine Credit Union League, a professional trade association that exists to serve Maine’s 54 credit unions. In this role, Jen coordinates League communications, statewide initiatives and community outreach, and serves as the organization’s spokesperson. Before joining the League in 2018, Jen managed her own government and public relations consulting firm—a position she held for over a decade. She has worked in both Augusta and Washington, DC, and brings a wide array of public affairs experience to her role. In addition to her responsibilities at the League, Jen is on the Board of the Maine Public Relations Council and the Saint James School Catholic Education Board. Jen recently completed a three-year mentorship with four Biddeford High School Class of 2020 graduates through the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute—a program founded by her former boss, the Honorable Olympia J. Snowe. Jen is a proud graduate of the University of Southern Maine. She earned her degree in Political Science, graduating magna cum laude in 1999. After graduating from the University of Maine at Orono, Rodney received his Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina and has dedicated his life to Student Affairs in higher education ever since. He has worked at USM for over 20 years, spanning many departments including Advising, Student Life, and Orientation, using his passion for helping students to support a positive learning environment so students can flourish and reach their goals. Rodney can often be found chatting with students in Sullivan fitness center or enjoying the great outdoors - if you see him, be sure to say hi and ask about his time as a professional mascot for the Portland Seadogs! As a native Mainer who "boomeranged" back, she is thrilled to be stewarding relationships between local employers and the University of Southern Maine. Beyond USM, Alex is a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher and enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends. Her passions include social justice, personal development, and leadership education. She is a member of the Junior League of Portland, ME and resides in Windham. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond and her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut.
