After a few weeks of play behind every team, certain squads have separated themselves as elite and others are proving to be struggling more than anticipated. We break down how certain teams stand currently in the Big Ten, and share our own thoughts on what’s wrong with a current power ranking of the conference. Moving outside of the Big Ten, the two of us share our own personal opinions on teams that has impressed each of us, and discuss what makes these particular groups special opposed to other squads. Finally, looking towards the future, we discuss the race for a spot in the College Football Playoffs. Grind my Gears is a straightforward podcast produced by two people who have had enough of certain parts of sports. Whether it be ridiculous rules, unrealistic guidelines for leagues or abused loopholes, nothing that upsets sports fans is safe from discussion. In each episode, the two hosts, Sean Nief and Derek Mattix, follow a theme regarding a certain sport or league and then go over three or four issues that they have with the aforementioned topic. No two episodes are ever the same. There are always new ways to express their anger and no sport is safe. The only consistent part is nonstop complaining. If you want to experience a podcast that gets the blood pumping, voices all of your internal anger as a sports fan and give you a chance to scream along with the host, then tune in to Grind my Gears!
