30 MAY 2016 · It's easy to talk about the cost of freedom, but do we really take notice of what it has cost many who have fought in the wars of freedom, yes, many lost their lives, serving and fighting, but today, I want to remind you of those who served and fought and then came home only to have to continue to fight even greater battles that we don't know or perhaps don't even care enough to want to know.
You see a great many veterans came home to anything but freedom after their tour(s) were over because the real fight only begun, the day they returned home-----to broken promises, broken homes, broken hearts, broken marriages and broken lives. because a greater fight started------the pain and aftermath of war has been too great for many. Post war stress disorder, to never ending nightmares, addictions, the inability to even hear a car backfire, much less celebrate a day like today.
So today, I do encourage you to yes, celebrate all service members who have passed on but I ask you to also pray for those still fighting a war that has been over for many but is still oncoming each and everyday for so many more still living.
Thank you to each and all of you that I know who served and to the countless many that I never knew. God bless and keep you all in His perfect peace.
