  • DOWIT #9 Leadership Wins Championships: Randolph High School

    9 JAN 2020 · Head coach Will Nahan, of Randolph High School gave us the opportunity to speak to his football team about peer accountability and leadership. A winning team is built on a competitive culture and we had the fortunate opportunity to share words of wisdom with their team before their season opener. Despite a 6-5 record they went into the playoffs as the 6th seed and beat the number 3 seed, while losing a close battle to runner state champion, Woodbridge who barely won 14-13. Their season had many ups and downs but despite their record they almost found a way into the state championship game.     5 DEC 2019 · Brandon Lynch, East Carolina University (NC) defensive back coach from Augusta, GA has been around football his entire life. He played in college at Middle Tennessee State, then went out to play for the legendary Tony Dungy and Jim Caldwell in the Indianapolis Colts and finished his playing career in the CFL. Coach Lynch immediately got into coaching and has now become one of the biggest defensive back coaches in college football with multiple players playing in the NFL. Brandon sat down with us in their facility has coached some top college prospects who have made it to the NFL. More importantly, Brandon dropped some knowledge for coaches, recruits, parents and players in what it takes to play Division 1 football and the mindset you need to have to sustain a college career along with life after football.     7 NOV 2019 · The Miami Dolphins, invited us to OTAs (Organized Training Activities) in the off-season and allowed us the opportunity to coach some of the top athletes in the world. Out of 10,000 and more applicants from all different levels of coaching, we were selected a top coach to come down to Miami and learn from Head Coach, Brian Flores; a SuperBowl Winner and the rest of the staff for a couple weeks. We learned so much about the attention to detail behind the scenes, how to be a pro and what it takes to sustain a long NFL career from the coaches eyes. This podcast gives invaluable information on what it's like to be a pro and the expectation level from every coach in the building to perform at a high level to win games.     3 OCT 2019 · Rich Ruffalo a motivational speaker, author, educator, coach, role model and gold medalist. At age 32, Ruffalo lost his eyesight but never lost his "vision." At the Walt Disney Company McDonald's American Teacher Awards, Ruffalo was named both the Outstanding Coach of the Year and the Outstanding Teacher of the Year for 1995. Vice President Al Gore presented the award to him on nationwide television. In 1994 he was selected as one of five educators from the United States to be inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame. As a favored citizen of Belleville, New Jersey, he received the "Outstanding Citizen of the Year" award in 1994. He is the winner of four different world titles in shot put, discus, javelin, and power lifting. Rich has earned 14 international gold medals, won 32 national titles, set 9 world and 15 national records, and has won 13 USA Track and Field K-2ster's State Titles against sighted competitors.     18 SEP 2019 · The Phill Simms North-South High School All Star Football Classic hosted at Kean University is the biggest all star game in New Jersey where the North and South battled it for state pride. We were fortunate to be asked to give both teams a pre-game speech before the game. Over the past 30 years it has been an ongoing conversation who has better talent, the North or the South, so this game has a ton of history behind it. Many players in this game go off to have decorated college careers and some have made it to the NFL. The pre-game speech was a message to all athletes about the process of what to expect at the next level and how to navigate your way through college to having a successful career.
