On this very special episode, we look back at the life of former Parkway Tropics manager Joe Hess, aka Hot Tub Joe, who passed away on March 7, 2018 after suffering a massive heart attack at age 64. Big D shares stories about his friend Joe and some of the things that happened in that hot tub, including the bed that needed WD-40, the hand lotion contest, and the party that happened when Joe wasn't home. Should they be independent contractors? Or should they be employees? Big D examines industry lawsuits over this issues, some of the potential positives and negatives of each classification, and how the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hours Division determines how a worker is classified.
