18 OCT 2022 · In this episode, the Support Services Team discuss how best to document our work and the importance of keeping proper records. We have a discussion of the pitfalls we can get into, how long to keep records, and what is an FOI. This conversation is very interesting, even for the Team, who always speak about the importance of documentation.

13 OCT 2022 · In this episode, the Support Services Team discuss equity, diversity and inclusion in the Catholic school setting with Cassandra Jack, the Chair of the newly formed Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Standing Committee. Cassandra speaks about the goals developed by the committee and follows by sharing her experiences as a student as well as an employee in one of our Catholic boards. The Team asks about issues heard from Associates and how we can support our Principal and Vice Principals.

23 AUG 2022 · In this episode, the Support Services Team speaks with Sandra Donaghue, the CPCO President for the 2022-23 school year. Sandra shares her goals and priorities for the upcoming year. She speaks about the issues schools may face in opening and the impact of some of the changes for this school year. Sandra describes some of the changes and supports offered by CPCO and shares the innovative APP and new website that CPCO is introducing this year. 25 MAY 2022 · Part of the work Support Services Advisors offer at CPCO is to participate in investigations when there is an allegation or complaint made regarding one of our Associates. As we navigate the changes in society over time, there is usually a shift or increase in the types of investigations we support. One area of increase has been in a greater number of complaints involving allegations of such discriminatory practices as racism. This is the focus of the second podcast produced by CPCO related to investigations.

8 MAR 2022 · In this episode, the Support Services Team speaks with Emmanuel Adegboyega, a graduate of the Toronto Catholic District School Board who is currently a student/athlete at Simon Fraser University majoring in Criminal Law and Politics. He is also a recipient of the Lincoln Alexander Award which is awarded to young leaders to recognize their commitment to anti-racism and equity in their communities. Emmanuel shares his perspective and experiences on racism and his perspectives provide valuable insights for others (students and adults) to learn from and incorporate into their lives and communities.

8 MAR 2022 · In this episode, the Support Services Team have an important conversation with Deborah Celemencki from Johnson regarding LTD. The following issues are discussed and explained: definition of LTD, the difference between STLDP and LTD and why you need LTD, the different options under the Johnson plan, when to file a claim, and when to cancel your LTD coverage.

18 FEB 2022 · In this episode, the Support Services Team invite Kate Remiz and Jennifer Harvey (Principals with Durham Catholic District School Board) to join in a conversation about mental health and anxiety. They have been supporting students and staff for many years and share some of the causes and symptoms of mental health concerns as well as some practical ideas of how we can support ourselves as Catholic leaders. The conversation is practical, interesting and engaging. The discussion includes: what an Advisory is, why an Advisory on Anti-Black Racism is being provided now, as well as some common Anti-Black racism examples. Suggestions as to how Principals and Vice-Principals can support the learning for themselves and their staff are provided. 14 SEP 2021 · In this episode, the Support Services Team speaks with Mona Jones, the Early Years Teacher Coordinator for Garden River First Nations. Mona explains the significance of the colour orange and date of September 30, the new Federal Statutory holiday. Mona also takes us through a journey that outlines the history of Turtle Island to help us develop an understanding of the impact of this history on our Indigenous communities.

9 SEP 2021 · In this episode, the Support Services Team speaks with Antonella Rubino, our CPCO President for the 2021-22 school year, about the reopening of schools during the fourth COVID-19 wave, as well as other current issues that she has heard from Principals and Vice-Principals around the province. She is concerned about the impact that COVID-19 continues to place on Principals and Vice-Principals relating to workload as well as mental health and well-being. She also shares that conversations with the Province and Trustees are on-going in regards to our Terms and Conditions.
