This series 'Britain: Hindi Kahani' showcases the literary work of Hindi/Urdu writers based in the UK. Some of them are quite prominent as literary figures back in India and Pakistan. There are about 3 million people of Indian and Pakistani origin in the UK, and most of them can communicate in a spoken mix of Hindi and Urdu languages.
Achala Sharma, the presenter of Cine Ink podcast series 'Britain: Hindi Kahani' is an established broadcaster, short story writer and playwright. Her career as a broadcaster spans over two decades during which she worked with All India Radio, Voice of America and BBC Hindi Service in London. She went on to become the Head of the BBC Hindi Service.

10 JAN 2021 · A post graduate from Birmingham University, Aruna Sabharwal began writing Hindi short stories a decade ago. Her first story 'Ve Chaar Paranthe' was published in a Hindi literary magazine, Naya Gyanodaya, and received positive reviews. Within a few years, she published three collections of short stories- Kaha Ankaha, Ve Chaar Paranthe and Udari. Aruna has been teaching for the last 25 years in various schools of England.
