  • 006 Chrissy & Brian Linzy

16 NOV 2016 · This interview follows on from the one I did with Val Worthington, from the same April 2014 trip to Virginia. Chrissy and Brian are two of the three founders of US Grappling (along with Andrew Smith), a pioneer of true submission only tournaments. We cover a lot of topics in our chat, from competitions, BJJ in the Olympics, building US Grappling and women's classes through to the Linzys' start in BJJ. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, let us know on info@artemisbjj.com

2 NOV 2016 · Hooray, a new interview! This interview is from last month (10th October 2016), just before Chelsea and Tom taught their third seminar at Artemis BJJ. We chatted about teaching, women's classes, the business of running a school and their histories in BJJ. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, let us know on info@artemisbjj.com

  • 003 Val Worthington

29 SEP 2016 · In this interview from 2014, I speak with Dr Valerie Worthington. Among the many strings to her bow, Val helps run Groundswell Grappling Concepts, writes for Breaking Muscle and teaches at Princeton BJJ. She also has a book out, 'Training Wheels', a training travelogue that takes a refreshingly cerebral look at BJJ. In this interview, we talk about her background in the sport, her thoughts on women-only classes and chat about the genesis of that book (which she was still writing when we recorded this two years ago). If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, just let us know on info@artemisbjj.com

  • 002 Fabio Santos

25 SEP 2016 · In this interview from 2013, I speak with the legendary Fabio Santos, one of the earliest pioneers of BJJ in the United States. He was the first person to teach BJJ in New York in 1983, later instructing at the seminal Gracie Academy in Torrance where he helped Royce prepare for the UFC. In this interview, we talk about that history, as well as his thoughts on the IBJJF rules and how best to run a class. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, just let us know on info@artemisbjj.com

  • 001 Michel Verhoeven

7 SEP 2016 · For the inaugural episode, this is an interview I did with Michel Verhoeven back in 2013. Michel is a Rickson black belt in the Netherlands, who was over in the UK for a seminar. We talk about the history of BJJ in the Netherlands, Michel's background and of course lots of chat about Rickson himself. I hope you enjoy it: any questions, drop me a line at info@artemisbjj.com
