15 OCT 2017 · Antihero Magazine's James Geiser spoke with bassist Matt Snell of Las Vegas-based Metal band Invidia. When they came together to make "As The Sun Sleeps", they knew just what they didn’t want and how far they were willing to go to make it work on their terms. INVIDIA features former members of Five Finger Death Punch and Skinlab. Recently Invidia announced the addition of Evan Seidlitz as the newest member of the band, replacing vocalist Travis Johnson. Seidlitz is no stranger to the frontman spotlight, known for his work in VYCES, Thrown Into Exile and Grimace. • Interview with Jenny Mann of BLAMESHIFT

9 OCT 2017 · Antihero Magazine's James Geiser spoke with Blameshift vocalist, Jenny Mann. Check out the interview here! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Blood, Sweat, Tears…and more sweat! For the four members of Blameshift, those words are much more than a cliche, they are real life. The story of Blameshift is as much about overcoming obstacles, letting go of fears, heartbreak and redemption as it is about the music we make. No one ever said it would be easy…but no one could have ever known just how challenging it would be. We have toured this country relentlessly for the last 5 years on nothing but hopes, dreams, determination and veggie oil (for a short period). We listened on as we were called crazy and told to give it up. We worked for every piece of equipment, every show, every fan, every dollar we ever made as a band. Resourceful became our middle name. We booked 200 + shows a year by ourselves for 4 years straight. We sold everything we owned to buy our first bus and record our music. We turned that same shuttle bus into a mini RV and have done so 2 other times. We worked 20 hours a day making contacts and honing our craft. We stood our ground as many of our comrades fell from the pressure. We showed our resiliency after the loss of key members and subsequently the loss of hope. We've been on top of the world and at rock bottom all in the same day. We should have changed our name numerous times but miraculously never lost that faith in our one and only love, Blameshift. We grew…we made mistakes…we learned…we never took no for an answer…we turned nothing into something. As an independent band we have accomplished more than we could have ever imagined. We landed endorsements with the biggest music companies in the world like PRS Guitars, Ampeg, Sennheiser, Schecter Guitars, GHS Strings & Bogner Amps as well as COLDCOCK Whiskey, Venue Magic and Sullen Clothing. We have toured alongside and shared the stage with bands like Pop Evil, Adelita's Way, Sick Puppies, Straight Line Stitch, 12 Stones and Black Stone Cherry to name just a few. We've lived in Los Angeles for months at a time, writing and recording songs with our producer and mentor, Erik Ron (Panic At The Disco, Good Charlotte, We Came As Romans). We have landed dates on the Vans Warped Tour. Our music has been played on TV shows on MTV, Oxygen, E! Network and more. Our songs have charted on Active Rock Radio Charts. Our music has been played on Sirius XM as well as hundreds of other radio stations nationally and internationally. Our dedication, hard work and tenacity continues to pay off. The journey has only begun for us. With the addition of a new rhythm section there is a fire that seems to burn brighter than the four of us can see. They are the missing pieces that have finally secured and finished this puzzle. What the future holds is endless. Music has never been just about the aural sound that it makes but more about the feelings, emotions and unity that it brings. Our fans are not only friends but family too. We want to share our story with as many people as possible and continue to do what we set out to do. Join us for the ride…wherever it goes!

  • Interview with Pustulus Maximus of GWAR

7 OCT 2017 · Antihero Magazine's James Geiser had the opportunity to chat with guitarist Pustulus Maximus of GWAR. The story of GWAR is carved across the history of this barren and hopeless planet, but GWAR themselves are not of this world... their story begins in the deepest reaches of outer space. Long ago, the beings who would become the rock band GWAR were part of an elite fighting force, the Scumdogs of the Universe. For eons, they served as thralls to a supreme being known only as the Master. But one by one, each future member of the band earned a glaring reputation for being an intergalactic fuck-up. And so, they were banished, sent away on a fool’s errand to conquer an insignificant shitball floating in a dark corner of the universe; the planet Earth. Once here, GWAR shaped the face of the globe, destroying and rebuilding the natural world, and giving rise to all of human history. Aliens to some, gods and demons to others, our erstwhile Scumdogs fucked apes to create the human race, and this fateful unplanned pregnancy would prove to be truly disastrous! Their new album, “The Blood of Gods” is nothing less than a sacred text chronicling the rise of humanity against their makers, and the massive battle between GWAR and the forces of all that is uptight and wrong with the world. Along the way, the band challenges the sins of their great mistake, from politics, pollution, and organized religion, to fast food, and factory farming. Humans are shown as what they are; a parasitical disease that must be eradicated before they suck the planet dry. Meanwhile, Sleazy P. Martini, the crooked entrepreneur who discovered the Scumdogs, and has always envisioned them as a sort of horrific boy band, finally managed to convince the group to write a hit song called “I’ll Be Your Monster.” If all goes according to plan, it may be just stupid enough to work! Of course, “The Blood of Gods” is the first GWAR album without the band’s fallen leader, Oderus Urungus. The title of the album refers to the loss of Oderus. and the struggles and triumphs that produced the new sound of the band. Born of adversity, “The Blood of Gods” is a sonic scar...a question asked and answered...Death cannot kill GWAR. Nothing can. GWAR LIVES!

  • Interview with Anthony Vincent of SET THE CHARGE and TEN SECOND SONGS

7 OCT 2017 · Antihero Magazine‘s James Geiser spoke to vocalist Anthony Vincent of Set The Charge and Ten Second Songs. Set The Charge, an original four-piece band from New York, was largely a studio project until early 2014 when founding members Frank and Anthony Valbiro connected with Derek Ortiz and Tom Dicarlucci. In 2015, Set the Charge released their first E.P., Auditory Insemination. Drawing influence from favorite eras and genre of music, Set The Charge’s sound is as much of an homage to the past as it is a dive into the contemporary—and there is no better testament to that than their upcoming album, Sky Goes On. Some of the band’s recent appearances include Trash Bar, Fat Baby, The Bitter End, Garcia’s at The Capitol Theatre, The Bowery Electric, Webster Hall, and more. In June 2015, Set The Charge was the subject of AXS TV’s “Breaking Band” series, paired up with Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer Robin Zander of Cheap Trick (air date – 2/14/16). Other appearances include NYC’s StreamCon, a well-received performance at VidCon 2016, and even bigger plans in place for 2018 and beyond. Set The Charge is Anthony on guitars and vocals, Tom Dicarlucci on lead guitar, Derek Ortiz on bass guitar, and Frank on the drums.
