  • The Journey to Attain Closeness to Allahﷻ

30 DEC 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Allahﷻ Says in the Holy Quran, And the king said, "Come up with him (i.e., Bring him, Sayyidina Yusuf Alayhi salam) to me! I would faithfully (attach) him to myself." So, as soon as he spoke to him, he said, "Surely today you are close to us, established, and devoted." (Quran 12:54) Sayyidina Yusuf Alayhi salam went through many difficulties in his life and in the end, he was rewarded by Allahﷻ for his patience. He was raised in rank, from a prisoner in the dungeon, to attaining the highest honour, being one most trusted in closeness to the king. For a believer, Allah Almighty is the King of all kings, and attaining nearness to Himﷻ is the highest honour for a humble servant. Mawlanaق said that when Allahﷻ Loves Hisﷻ servant, Heﷻ brings the person in closeness to Himﷻ. Mureeds in this Way know, it is not an easy journey. They are taught to think nothing of the good deeds they do, to seek no reward for their actions, except Allah’sﷻ Pleasure. A mureed must strive to do all within his capacity to be in service in this Way, following the orders of his Guide, and beautifying his actions with Sincerity. Sincerity, is the Protection in Allahﷻ against iblis alayhi laqnat and his forces. A sincere mureed realises that every good action he performs is in reality, from the Generosity of his Lord and he releases its rewards to the Safekeeping of His Belovedﷺ. In the Divine Presence of Allah Almighty, Most High, there is no place for ‘I’-ness. To lose oneself is the goal of Tariqah, to attain the Pleasure of Allahﷻ is the destination. Mawlanaق reminds us to be wary of our egoistic-self and to act with caution, always checking the heart for any signs of subtle rebellion towards Allahﷻ. Praises and insults must appear the same to a mureed as he learns to have complete trust in the Will of Allahﷻ. As one seeking Knowledge from the Quran will find, in the letter ‘س’, a linguistic value of subtlety. The subtleness of ‘س’ is found in the entire Surah An-Nas, which is a prayer, seeking the Help of Allahﷻ against the insidious games shaitan and his companions play, whispering to people feelings of distrust in their Lord Most High. Hence, be careful, because even a small amount of unhappiness with the Will and Wisdom of Allahﷻ, can take one far from Himﷻ. The secret, hidden enemy can only be defeated with constant zikrullah, being with Allahﷻ and asking Himﷻ for help against the ‘snipers’ waiting to ambush and attack with their ‘waswasa’, crafty whisperings. May Allahﷻ make us to be those who have full trust in Himﷻ, in our Prophetﷺ, and in our Guideق, until we reach the highest honour of attaining closeness to Himﷻ.

  • The Perfect Role Modelﷺ, To Whom None Can Even Remotely Compare

23 DEC 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Allahﷻ Says in the Holy Quran, And We have certainly honoured the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference. (Quran 17:70) Mankind, the most honourable of all creation, are spiritual beings created to be in eternal Happiness with their Lord, yet many are cheated to think they are mere lowly creatures, created in vain to pursue only this physical life. Mawlanaق said that a person is like a precious gem, a soul of Divine Light, hidden underneath an earthly body, an outer crust of dried mud. When shaytan knew of the exalted station of Man, he was angered that the one created from ‘dirt’ was chosen over him to receive such honour. He studied his enemy, and vowed in arrogance to his Lord Allahﷻ, to overpower mankind and cheat them from their divine destiny. Hence, Mawlanaق said in hisق recent sohbah that we are at war with allied enemies and that World War III commenced a long time ago. A war unlike any other, an insidious war of the end times, to trick, blind and swerve mankind into a pit of endless suffering, here and hereafter. The enemy we face has infiltrated our glorious Islamic history, stolen from its richness and attempted to taint its beauty. Ignoramus Muslims today are looking to the unscrupulous, ugly satanic western ways to emulate and are tricked to think nothing of the supreme, beautiful religion Allah Almighty chose for Man, Islam. Muslims have followed the ways of the unbelievers and forgotten about the perfection of mankind in the Holy Prophetﷺ. Never in history has any person been extensively studied as the Messenger of Islam, Sayyidina Muhammadﷺ was. Hisﷺ every living moment was recorded for the purpose of exemplifying mankind with perfection in moral character and the highest standards of living. Even the disbelievers agree, there is none equal to himﷺ. Yet, many are tricked to forget the honour of being believers, and are busying themselves with useless celebrity idols staged to become role models towards a corrupted lifestyle, a weapon in this new aged world war. Therefore, believers must wake up, know real Islamic history that brought civilisation to people, and learn from the millions of hadith of our Holy Prophetﷺ from authentic sources, that the great Caliphs of Islam lived by. However, be wary of false information tarnished by the enemy which are rampant off the internet. Muslims must take time from this fleeting life to study and follow with diligence, the highest standard of moral character, the Walking Quran, our Prophetﷺ. May Allahﷻ make us to be ahlul sunnah, following in totality, the beautiful ways of the most revered man ever created, Prophetﷺ, and to be Raised with himﷺ in perfected Iman.

  • Wasting is a Sign of Disbelief

16 DEC 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Allahﷻ Says in the Holy Quran, Verily, for those who squander wastefully are brothers of the devils, and Satan is ever ungrateful to his Lord. (Quran 17:27) Mankind is poor and always needy of Allahﷻ, yet many think they are self-sufficient and rebel against their Lord by wasting Hisﷻ Gifts. People of the end times are more wasteful than ever before. Advancement in technology and food delivery chains have made many unaware of how blessed we are to have food on our plates. All of life today appears to be in infinite bounty, but in reality, every person has been allotted a finite share of his needs. Before the arrival of the Angel of Death, Sayyidina Azrael Alayhi Salam, the other noble angels in-charge of a person’s rizq (sustenance) will first complete their duty of searching the entire universe to see if there is any food, drink, air and time left for him on earth. When everything he has been divinely allotted with, has reached him, then these noble angels will inform the person that the arrival of Death is upon him. All that a person is written to have, will expire at the time pre-ordained by Allah Most High. Hence, to be wasteful is a sign of unbelief, a lack of faith that one’s rizq is fixed and will one day, come to an end. Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adilق said in hisق recent sohbah, “to waste is to offend the Ni’mah (favour). It is the reason for favours to be gone.” Mawlanaق also added, “the Barakah is gone because of wasting, and there is famine. There is cultivation, but because there is no Barakah, it is not enough.” Barakah is intangible, it can only be felt when something that seems small in calculation becomes a source of sustenance for many, in uncountable folds. We must be very careful not to lose Barakah, and, to hold on to it, by being truly content and grateful with what has been given. Holy Prophetﷺ said, “take benefit of Five before Five. 1) Your youth before your old age, 2) health before sickness, 3) wealth before poverty, 4) free time before being preoccupied and 5) your life before your death.” Be busy not wasting the number of breaths, food, drink, money, and time you have and utilise your day in worship. Prophetﷺ said, “Your Lord Almighty said: Son of Adam, be free for My worship. I will fill your heart with richness and fill your hands with provision. Son of Adam, do not distance yourself from Me, or else I will fill your heart with poverty and fill your hands with worthless distractions.” Hadith Qudsi For a believer, everything he does from sleeping to working, is ibadah (worshipping). Be careful with the gifts of ‘Five before Five’, allotted by our Generous Lord for us, and be as Mawlanaق said, thankful ones, busy in charity, helping others, acquiring beneficial knowledge and teaching, in awareness of the limited amount of rizq we have been bestowed with. May Allahﷻ make us to be people of thankfulness, not wasteful and to be made truly aware of the limits we have been written to receive, before we part ways from this life.

  • Prioritise Learning Arabic

12 DEC 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Allahﷻ Says in the Holy Quran, O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. (Quran 35:15) Indeed, mankind is poor and always needy of Allahﷻ, yet many think they are self-sufficient and rebel against their Lord. Those who seek to know and to be with their Benevolent Creator are blessed ones who are chosen to be in true happiness here and hereafter. The Holy Quran was sent for the purpose of knowing Allahﷻ, to understand the religion God Almighty Chose for all of mankind and to eventually reach to be with Himﷻ, in eternal happiness and beauty. The Superiority of the Quranic words over all words, is the Superiority of Allah over all creation. (Hadeeth Qudsi) In the Quran, Allahﷻ refers to Hisﷻ Holy Book with the words, ‘zalika’- meaning, that, a far away object, and also with the word, ‘haza’- meaning, this, something near. ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ لَا رَيْبَ ۛ فِيهِ ۛ هُدًى لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ That is the Book, there is no suspicion about it, a guidance to the pious. (Quran 2:2) In the verse above, we find Allahﷻ referring to the Quran as ‘That Book’. With more understanding of Quranic Arabic, one finds that this verse means a ‘far away Book He Wrote’, specifically indicating the Heavenly origins of the Holy Quran Written by Allahﷻ. While in other verses, such as the one below, Allahﷻ uses the word ‘this’, referring to the Quran, meaning ‘this, (Quran) that is to be read’. By revealing this Qur’an to you, we hereby narrate to you the best narrative, while before this you were among those unaware (of it). (Quran 12:3) For one who understands the eloquence of Quranic Arabic, this simple comparison of pronouns shows the immense beauty of Allah’sﷻ Word. Hisﷻ Words are the Most Eloquent & Lovely words, anyone will ever hear. In another example of Quranic Beauty, we site a three letter root word like, ‘جنن’, ‘janoon’- an unseen covering, giving similar meaning to words like ‘jannah’ (garden/Paradise), ‘janin’ (embryo) or ‘jinn’ (unseen ones). All these words refer to something unseen, sharing similarities to its root word, ‘janoon’. Holy Quranic Arabic is the language chosen by Allahﷻ to deliver Hisﷻ Guidance to mankind, hence we should not make it the least important in our list of priorities, to acquire knowledge of and to master. Soothing to the Heart, Soul and Mind, even by looking at, and writing Quranic verses is therapeutic and healing. The human mind was created to understand, in Arabic. Hence it's the language of teachings of the Quran. The human tongue was created, to speak in Arabic. Hence it's the language of Jannah. The human heart was created to be decorated, in Arabic. Hence it's the language of Zikrullah. That is why Einstein says mankind uses only 5% of their minds. To know only about dunia. But Mawlanaق said our Prophetﷺ used 100% of hisﷺ mind. To understand and ponder in Arabic, the Quranic verses, ya ulul albab- gifted individuals, who possess wisdom, intelligence and knowledge based on belief and devotion to Allahﷻ and this is not an ordinary term. All dunia knowledge is the 5%, in reality much less, while the 95% of Mind’s useage is to Iqra-ul-Quran, wal tafakkur, read the Quran with understanding and to ponder over the verses. To know Himﷻ. May Allahﷻ make us to be sincere mureeds seeking to prioritise learning and understanding Holy Quranic Arabic with the sole intention of becoming as our Holy Prophetﷺ was, a Walking Quran, knowing our Lord and to be with Himﷻ in eternal Happiness.

  • Anger, a Major Symptom of Egoistic Disease

9 DEC 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem The 6th Grandshyakh of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain, Mawlana Shaykh Bayazid Al-Bistamiق said, “to be close to Allahﷻ, one must first be close to those beloved to Allahﷻ.” When Shaykh Bayazidق passed on, he was over seventy years old. Before heق died, someone asked him his age and Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah Faiz Daghestaniق said that after Shaykh Bayazid’sق encounter with Sayyidina Khidr Alayhi Salam at a graveyard, where Al-Khidr was pointing to the graves of some great scholars in a Muslim cemetery saying, “This one is few months old; that one, three; that one, seven.” Shaykh Abu Yazeedق said: “I am four years old. For seventy years I was veiled. I got rid of my veils (egoistic-self) only four years ago.” Tariqah is the blessed school of journeying to Allahﷻ, taking the guiding handhold of a Spiritual Master and leaving the clutches of slavery to the egoistic-self. It is an institution for destroying any form of self-aggrandisement in one’s heart, until one progresses to have only Allahﷻ remaining at heart. “Indeed My earth and My heavens could not contain Me but the soft peaceful heart of My believing servant can.” Hadeeth Qudsi in Ihya ‘Uloom Al-Deen of Imam Al-Ghazali Vol. 3 With the help of a Spiritual Guide, the merciful breaking of the ‘idol’ filled heart begins, through daily tests, cleansing it from all self-worship. It is the most difficult and painful process, the greatest battle, as Prophetﷺ said, ‘Jihaddun Nafs’, the battle with the ego. One who can defeat his ego is the one with true strength. Only when the egoistic-self has died, can a person truly live and reach Servanthood to Allahﷻ. The most ferocious attribute of the ego is anger- ghadabin nafs. Manifesting in two forms, the anger out of Love for Allahﷻ or the destructive anger of the Nafs. The latter is the prevailing symptom of the lack of Iman and Ego’s hold on a person. Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق said that Iman is light, it consumes all darkness of evil, but anger is like fire, it destroys all goodness and extinguishes the light of Iman. Anger comes from you planning and wanting the opposite of what Allahﷻ Plans for you. Anger, heق said, is like a big pond with many fish alive in it. Each fish is likened to a bad characteristic a person possesses. The only way to drain this pond and exterminate the ‘evil fish’ living in it, is through the night vigil Sunnah of Solat Najat, a daily practice for the Naqshbandi mureed. Solat Najat is the ‘extinguisher’ of the ‘Flames of Fury’ of the lower egoistic-self. It is the remedy for the aspiring mureed, to slowly and steadily attain true peace, paving his way towards healing from the darkness of anger, to attain light of Iman, real humility and true acknowledgement of the Will of Allahﷻ, becoming Rabbani, only for Allahﷻ. (Listen to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s Sohbah - How to Control Anger here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvqXq79cdJA) May Allahﷻ make us to be sincere mureeds seeking to progress everyday, preparing our hearts to be only for Himﷻ, holding on to the firm handhold of our Guide, until we reach to Servanthood to Allahﷻ, Insha’Allah.

  • Improvement: Be Better Everyday

2 DEC 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Our Holy Prophetﷺ said, “One whose two days are equal is a loser, and the one whose today is worse than his yesterday is accursed …” Al-Sakhawi (d. 902/1497) A profitable Muslim is one whose condition today is better than his yesterday. This blessed one has improved in the ‘state-of-self’ as he made effort to draw closer to Allahﷻ today than he did yesterday. Mankind’s need to progress is fitrah. It is placed by Allahﷻ both physically and spiritually in every person. Without physical growth, a person will not reach to the full capabilities of adulthood and without spiritual growth, one will not reach to the ultimate purpose of life, to be in Servanthood to Allahﷻ. For a believer, there is no better motivation for self-improvement, than death. The promise of death encourages one to seek beyond this mortal life, looking ahead to an everlasting life with Allahﷻ. Hence, visiting the graveyard is a Sunnah of our Prophetﷺ and heﷺ said that the wisest amongst people are those who are always in preparation for death. Every action of such a one is a worship and he lives a life in complete obedience to his Lord. Awareness of death will lead to the awareness of passing time. Mawlana said that any action irrelevant to help one in death, is useless. Hence, beware of the ‘thief of time’, and for people of today, there is no greater thief of time than the TV & mobile screens we spend hours with. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim named the television, ‘the shaitan box’, for that reason, it robs people of precious time. Unless used for goodness, it is detrimental to our spiritual progress. A mureed in Tariqah must intently try to improve everyday. To progress, one must take guidance from a Master who knows that physical maturity is not equal to spiritual maturity. No matter one’s age, as long as there is an atom of pride at heart, then it is not cleansed from idols of shirk khafi, the humongous but discreet association of partners with Allahﷻ. Everyone is gifted different gifts of beauty, wealth, talent and special abilities from Allah The Most Generous. Mankind however are ungrateful to their Lord, lost in the world of self-worshiping, quick to take credit for the favours bestowed upon them, when in reality, all belongs to Himﷻ, including any good deed and special talent a person might possess. Tariqah is the blessed ‘School of Smashing Idols’ of self-conceit, arrogance and all statues of self-admiration within one’s heart. With the help of a Spiritual Guide, the crucial breaking of the idol-filled heart begins, through daily trials, to cleanse it from all self-worship, preparing it for 'death before death'. Only when the egoistic-self has died, can a person truly live and reach Servanthood to Allahﷻ. The Master will cleanse his mureed until he progresses to have only Allahﷻ remaining in Hisﷻ House, the heart of a true believer. “Indeed My earth and My heavens could not contain Me but the soft peaceful heart of My believing servant can.” Hadeeth Qudsi in Ihya ‘Uloom Al-Deen of Imam Al-Ghazali Vol. 3 May Allahﷻ make us to be sincere mureeds seeking to progress everyday, preparing for eternal life with Allahﷻ, holding on to the firm handhold of our Guide, until we reach to Servanthood, Insha’Allah.

  • Servanthood to Allahﷻ

25 NOV 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Today, we commemorate the passing of an honourable, senior mureed who in his lifetime served with dedication and true love, three Naqshbandi Grandshyakhs on the Golden Chain. Through his unwavering service to his Masyaikh, Shaykh Adnan Kabbani reached Sainthood and Servanthood to Allahﷻ. In a Sahih Hadith, Holy Prophetﷺ said: “Prior to the Last Hour, there would be a time when knowledge would be taken away, and ignorance would take its place and there would be bloodshed on a large scale.” - Sahih Muslim Book 34, Number 6454 As we go deeper into the darkness of this Second Age of Ignorance, we witness the manifestation of this hadith. Most of the holy Friends of Allahﷻ are passing on to the next life, taking with them the great Knowledge Ocean they bear, an essential spiritual resource from the endless Oceans of Divine Knowledge. These blessed Saints are slowly being taken by Allah Almighty from the foolish people of these end times, who uphold satanic freedom and godlessness. Living in a flood similar to that of the time of Prophet Nuh Alayhi Salam, this second torrent is one of fire, representing the rampant evil everywhere. By nature, people are drawn towards the sea and when cut off from these spiritual oceans, mankind will perish in the blazing fire of evil surrounding them. Hence, those taking the hand of a Guiding Saint in Tariqah, are fortunate ones, embarking on an Ark of Salvation amidst the flood of fire. People are either following the Holy Prophetﷺ on the Ark of hisﷺ appointed inheritors, or they are being led into the unscrupulous ways of shaytan. The AwliyaAllah elucidate the Ways of our Prophetﷺ as they have themselves reached to be, as the Prophetﷺ was, a Walking Quran. Heﷺ was ‘khuluqin azeem’, the perfection of moral character and no one can learn immaculate mannerisms just by reading the Quran. The embodiment of Allah’sﷻ Holy Book was His Belovedﷺ and today, hisﷺ inheritors, the Saints, exemplify through their attributes, character and manners with people, how to become a Living Quran. Shaykh Adnan through his humility, forbearance and intense love for his Guide, taught aspiring mureeds to keep their focus on Servanthood to Allahﷻ, the foundations of the Naqshbandi Way. He would say, “ask to have every action be upon the intention of your Master and to give the reward of any deed to the safekeeping of RasulAllahﷺ, till the Day of Judgement.” اِلَهِى اَنْتَ مَقْصُوْدِيْ وَرِضَاكَ مَطْلُوْبِيْ Ilahi anta maqshudi wa ridhoka mathlubi, ‘Oh my Lord, You are my purpose/destination. And Your Pleasure is what I seek.’ "I wish to please You, until I reach You, oh My Lord." This is the foundation of Tariqah and the aim of sincere mureeds. Shaykh Adnan reached to this honourable place and showed how one can also reach to Allahﷻ when one builds the spiritual journey upon obedience to one’s Guide, disobedience to the egoistic-self, fervently praying for sincerity in worship and being truly interested to learn and share the knowledge one acquires from oceans of sohbah dispensed by being with a Guide. May Allahﷻ make us to be sincere mureeds seeking and preparing for eternal life with Allahﷻ, holding on to the firm handhold of our Walking Quran, our Guide, until we reach to Servanthood.

  • Take Care of The Children

18 NOV 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Allahﷻ says in the Holy Quran, O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded. -Surah At-Tahrim 66: Verse 6. In the Holy Quran, Allahﷻ Warns the believer to guard himself and his family from eternal destruction. Mawlanaق emphasised on teaching the young ones to work on guarding themselves from a bad ending in the afterlife as they will spend this life in the dissensions of the end times. Allahﷻ Forbid, if the children face extreme difficulties in akhirah, even pious parents will be dragged into their difficulties as well. One must remember that the difficulties of the afterlife are unbearable and excruciating, far beyond any earthly struggles imaginable. Hence, children are gifts and a trust for parents to nurture patiently. We find a perfect example to follow, in the blessed holy family of our Guide, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adilق. During Hajjah Aminah’sق Urs recently, Mawlanaق spoke about his beloved mother’s excellence in service to her children, her Shaykh and the Tariqah, that earned her to be amongst The Forty Great Saints of Shams. She was a mureed to The Seal of the Saints, Mawlana Shaykh Abdullah Faiz Daghestaniق, wife of Sultan-ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق and mother to the current Grandshaykh of the Naqshbandi Aliyyah Golden Chain, Sultan-ul-Awliya Mawlana Shaykh Muhammadق. A pious mother is a quality school for her children and heaven lies under her feet. Hajjah Aminahق was such a mother, always in khidmat, raising her children in a nurturing home, like a warm greenhouse in winter, alive with awareness of the Absolute Oneness of Allahﷻ, while teaching them the decaying coldness of the outside world, rotting in the death of unbelief, forgetting the Lord Almighty. To achieve this, practical Islam was based on the love for Holy Prophetﷺ and this love was the heart of her blessed household. Our Holy Prophetﷺ said in a sahih hadith, “teach your children three things; 1. Love for your Prophetﷺ, 2. Love for hisﷺ Family (ahlul bayt), 3. proper Quran recital, For indeed the bearers of the Quran will be under the shade of Allah’s [throne] with the Prophets and chosen ones, on a day in which there will be no other shade.” - Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 311, and As-Sirajul Minur, vol.1 pg.75 Inculcating love for the Prophetﷺ and hisﷺ Sunnah comes before Quran recitation as the love for himﷺ leads to the love of the Holy Quran, eventually leading the children to be as heﷺ was, a Walking Quran. A good way to remind the children of this love is to remember the symbol of Islam. ☪️ The crescent is an ark of safety in the sea of calamity, a Way to Salvation, guided by a star, an Ahlul Bayt who is guiding the divinely appoint Captain of the vessel and his passengers to safety. Excellent nurturance of children today will determine an outcome of their safety here and hereafter, InSha’Allah. May Allah make us, our progeny and families to be in the Safety of the Ark of Tariqah, with Mawlanaق as our Captain, holding on to his firm handhold asking to be dressed to become a Walking Quran.

  • Become Rabbani, Only For Allah

11 NOV 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem Our Holy Prophetﷺ said in a sahih hadith, “ad-deenu naseeha” – “Religion is advice.” Those who reject advice, reject religion and are lost in slavery to the malicious ego. Mawlana Shah Naqshabandق said, “tariqatuna as-suhbah wal-khayru fil-jam`iyya” – “Our tariqat is association, it is keeping company, sohbah, association, and there is goodness in the gathering.” Without association, without advice, there is no way to benefit. The value of every sohbah is like a brick used in constructing a home. For a mureed, it is the foundation of the ‘House of God’ that he yearns to build in his heart. It is built earnestly in faith and in hope, of the sweetest gift of all, to be ‘Rabbani’, in Eternity, only for Allahﷻ. Holy Prophetﷺ, said, “Allah Almighty Says: I am as My servant expects of Me and I am with him as he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I will remember him in Myself. If he mentions Me in a gathering, I will mention him in a greater gathering. When he draws near Me by the span of his hand, I draw near him by the length of a cubit. When he draws near Me by the length of a cubit, I draw near him by the length of a fathom. When he comes to Me walking, I come to him running.” -Hadith Qudsi, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 7405, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2675 Mureeds of this Way gather weekly, worldwide, for Khatam Khwajagan (Zikir of the Masters). This great gathering originated in the Cave of Thawr with the Holy Prophetﷺ and hisﷺ highest ranking companion, Sayyidina Abu Bakr As-Siddiqر. It is here that one finds the steps on which one climbs closer to the Holy Presence of Allah Almighty, an invaluable gift that Grandshaykhق said, “for those who know the value of Khatam Khwajagan will crawl on ice to reach it.” Aspiring mureeds who took bay’ah (initiation into the Way) with Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adil Ar-Rabbaniق understand the value of hisق blessed Maqam (spiritual station). Allah’sﷻ Hand is over the Tariqah and over the firm handhold of the divinely appointed Spiritual Master, through the Golden Chain of Masters, guiding sincere followers entrusted to himق towards safety here and for eternity. It is essential that mureeds are aware of who their Guide is and focus their vision only on him. Looking elsewhere for guidance is likened to an unfaithful wife searching for intimacy from someone other than her husband. It is destructive to pledge allegiance to someone and look for what that one person can perfectly provide, in someone else. A Waliyan Murshida is sent to people to remind them of their real value. It is in the nature of Man to forget his purpose and hence, Allahﷻ Sends Guides to remind people to strive for what is valuable to Himﷻ. To a sincere mureed, Mawlanaق is the appointed 41st Grandshaykh of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain and hisق guidance and advice is all one needs to progress safely here and hereafter, insha’Allah. Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق sings a wonderful, hopeful song, “Dom, dom, dom dom, Eternity, Eternity. O’ Mankind of Eternity. Leave everything and sing with me. Eternity, Eternity.” When one accepts the reminder that we are not created to be on earth forever, then will one seek to prepare for an Eternity with Allahﷻ. Realise the real value of having a living Murshid who is sent to teach us the exquisite and personal message of the Holy Quran, revealed for every single person in humankind, a heart purified to become the ‘House of Allahﷻ’, being in service to the community, giving in charity and even the precious value of every difficulty Allahﷻ Sends our way. We are created to be eternally with Allahﷻ. Yet so many are unaware and spend this life aimlessly and heedlessly, not seeking to become Hisﷻ servant. Come to Eternity! Take the advice of the Saintly Guide sent to guide you there. May Allah make us to be Rabbani, sincere mureeds seeking and preparing for eternal life with Allahﷻ, holding on to the firm handhold of our Guide, asking to be dressed to become as Prophetﷺ was, a Walking Quran, understanding the message coming from our Creator exclusively for each and every one of us.

4 NOV 2021 · Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem “You are what you eat.” “Food is medicine.” “Your body is a temple.” Commonly propagated, these are some of the many slogans used to bring public awareness on the importance of physical health and good quality food consumption. Food awareness and healthy eating however, is nothing new for a believer. It is a Sunnah of our Beloved Prophetﷺ, a message heﷺ delivered and exemplified perfectly over 1400 years ago. Heﷺ said, “The son of Adam cannot fill a vessel worse than his stomach, as it is enough for him to take a few bites to straighten his back.”- Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2380 “Verily, the first organ the human being rots is his stomach. Whoever can eat nothing but wholesome food, let him do so...”- Sahih al-Bukhārī 7152 Mawlanaق said in hisق recent Sohbah, “Eat from what is clean and good. And then make shukr to Allahﷻ so that Allahﷻ increases these things. A Muslim, a believer should look at what he is eating and drinking, what he is giving and taking. It should be good.” Mankind is living in an age of massive food production like never before. Food today is readily available and mostly just an ‘app’ away. This multi-billion dollar industry that fills modern supermarkets and eateries with convenient global cuisines, is also the cause for many adults to be stricken with early onsets of severe diseases. Food biotechnology and genetic modification began close to a century ago with a speciality in infiltrating the wholesome natural process of food production, harming the consumer. It opposes natural, healing ways of growing food, all in the name of greed. Believers must be aware of such attacks on food and be cautious when selecting food to eat. Although GMO foods are such an embedded part of our food system these days, taking time to look beyond a mere ‘Halal’ sign to satisfy a craving is crucial for our wellbeing, both physically and spiritually. A wise old man once said in his Saintly advice about bodily health, “All these tasty food and drink of today brings only a few seconds of nikmah (blessings of satisfaction) from the tongue to the throat. Beyond this point, it brings a lifetime of azab (torment) to the entire body.” A whole life of suffering brought by a few seconds of obedience to the ego. The physical and spiritual impurities in food preparation today is draining believers from goodness. In reality, eating and drinking has only one purpose, serving the body for worship. Thousands of blessed angels are on duty to help ensure every morsel is used to nourish the body for worship, expelling all dirtiness as waste. When we choose to simply eat these ‘poisonous foods’ to satisfy the ego, the toxic waste produced accumulates and damages not just our physical health, but more worryingly, the spiritual heart, turning one listless from the remembrance of Allahﷻ . Anyone would prefer to have a healthy, active life in comparison to one bounded by illness. What more for a Muslim who understands that having a healthy life in service and worship to Allahﷻ is invaluable. Hence, we must take steps to properly care and protect our bodies from eating impure, convenient foods that only serve the taste-buds and nothing else beyond it. Instead, eat clean, find the freshest and most natural foods possible, prepared in a clean environment with the hands of a believer in wu’dhu, reciting zikrullah and salawat. Most importantly, be focused and present with the blessings of food on the table. Make du’a for it to be a means of healing for the body and soul. Take every morsel with ‘bismillah’ and swallow with ‘alhamdulillah’, being aware of a time to come when there will be no more allotted worldly provisions left for us to consume. May Allahﷻ Grant us this awareness and make all our food, drink and the air we breathe, be a means of protection from severe illnesses, giving us a long and healthy life in service and worship to our Bountiful Allah Almighty.

Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad (s) said in a sahih hadith, “ad-deenu naseeha” – “Religion is advice.” Religion is not a lecture for a scholar to give and go. It is advice, and advice doesn’t come except through experience. Advice cannot be theoretical.

Sayyidina Shah Naqshaband said, “tariqatuna as-suhbah wal-khayru fil-jam`iyya” – “Our tariqat is association, it is keeping company, sohbah, association, and the best of the gathering is in coming together.” Or it can be said, “Our way is guidance, and the best is in association.” Without association, without advice, there is no way to benefit.
