Well back in 1983, at the age of 23, Bert van Son moved to China to get a job in the textile industry, which is where he saw firsthand the effects of today’s fast fashion industry on factory workers and the environment. Ever since that time, Bert knew that one day he was going to do things differently, which is what he achieved 30 years later in 2013, with the introduction of “Lease A Jeans”, an innovative approach to guilt-free consumption. Together with a dedicated team, Bert has turned MUD Jeans into a sustainable clothing brand that has already won several awards, such as the Sustainability Leadership Award.
