Here is the story confirming the OPP confirming that the remains found near Mount Forest on Sunday (July 19 2009) were in fact those of Victoria Stafford: by Kate Yule - Tuesday, July 21, 2009 - Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that the remains found in the Mount Forest area on Sunday are those of Tori Stafford. Police used dental records to identify the remains. They have not yet determined a cause of death, and say that a more complete examination could take a week or longer to complete. Tori, who would have turned nine this week, was abducted in Woodstock in April. Two people were arrested and charged with her kidnapping and murder, but police had been unable to locate the girl's body. Acting Oxford police chief Rod Freeman says he hopes the confirmation brings the family and community some comfort. The discovery of Tori's remains allows police to now focus on the trial of the two suspects in her death. Michael Rafferty and Terri-Lynne McClintick, residents of Tori's hometown, are charged with murder and kidnapping. They face trial next year.
