The Anthropic Principle - The anthropic principle questions how and why conditions for life are so very fine tuned. Stephen Hawking, the internationally prominent wheelchair bound professor of physics at Cambridge University says of The Anthropic Principle, "If the universe is indeed spatially infinite, or if there are infinitely many universes, there would probably be some large regions somewhere that started out in a smooth and uniform manner. However, suppose that only in the smooth regions were galaxies and stars formed and were conditions right for the development of complicated self-replicating organisms like ourselves who are capable of asking the question: Why is the universe smooth? This is an example of the application of what is known as the anthropic principle, which can be paraphrased as We see the universe the way it is because we exist. This means that the initial state of the universe must have been very carefully chosen indeed if the hot big bang model was correct right back to the beginning of time. It would be very difficult to explain why the universe should have begun in just this way, except as the act of a God who intended to create beings like us." His original intent was to write a book to help the non-scientist understand the science behind the interconnected concepts of parallel universe theory, quantum physics and string theory. As Chris began the research for this book, he realized the subject matter needed to be about the messenger not the message. When he discovered who and what the messenger was, it astounded him and it will astound you too. Ours is not the only universe. This declaration is not religious belief or science fiction it is science fact. The existence of other universes is not the most amazing surprise. Incredibly, matter and energy travel to and from these other universes. Chris is convinced we too travel to and from other universes, and in this book he will attempt to show you how and why we do. With plenty of parallel universe advocates in cosmology, physics, astronomy, philosophy, theology, fiction and fantasy there are numerous ardent critics and non-believers. Chris agrees with those who say, "The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about." His research and personal experience has convinced me there are interconnected parallel universe realities, which reveal the source for many ancient, current phenomena and the unexplained.
