His parents knew before he did, as he would see and interact with his maternal grandfather every night after he passed away. Eventually in Brough's early teens he came to realize that the source of so much of his anxieties and depression was the direct cause of having to deal with being so sensitive to people and life. This realization would lead to his discovering psychic ability and finally opening up to people about the visions he was having.
