This year has been an extremely significant one for all Americans, and especially for young people. After starting the year on a terrible note with the Capitol insurrection, we soon saw a new administration take office and the balance of power in Congress shift, marking a new chapter of legislative possibilities.

In Congress, a good portion of the year has been spent considering and revising a core element of President Biden’s agenda, now known as the 'Build Back Better Act.' The landmark legislation has been passed by the House of Representatives and is now being considered by the Senate. This bill would have a significant impact on many of the core issues that matter to younger generations, and would represent a huge legislative accomplishment for the administration and Congress.

To talk with Edwith and Emily more about wins for young people in 2021, what’s next for the 'Build Back Better Act,' and what they hope to see happen in 2022, they’re joined by three expert guests.

They are Zeenat Yahya, the deputy policy director at March for Our Lives, as well as Sal Cottone and Vincent Vertuccio, organizers with the American University chapter of the Sunrise Movement.

Generation Progress' website is GenProgress.org and their Twitter handle is @GenProgress. Edwith Theogene's Twitter handle is @WhoIsEdwith and Emily Leach's handle is @emilyfleach. Zeenat Yahya's Twitter handle is @zeenatyahya and the handle for 'March for Our Lives' is @AMarch4OurLives.
The handle for the American University chapter of the Sunrise Movement is @sunrisemvmtau. Sal Cottone's handle is @SalCottone and Vincent Vertuccio's handle is @VVertuccio.
