Tiffany we made it where they didn't have to struggle the way we did. Like myself and Dgratest, we grew up in gang neighborhoods so we made a choice that they didn't have to grow up that way

They also crumble at the first sign of adversity. They are not as tough as we are and I don't know if that's because they've experienced less hardships, or less racism, or like you said they've had it too easy.

I think just like it was an hour day, nowadays the bad kids still get all the attention because we are told they needed the most. Whereas good kids are almost expected to be good therefore they need less attention. Put it this way if you having a horrible experience at a restaurant you're more likely to tell people about it then if the restaurant was just plain old good

Great point TiffPnP, funny you said that because my uncle told me I can do what I needed to do but bringing one home was a no-no, which i did not believe but understood.

Did we want our sons to see us in a different light, than their fathers perceived us to be? My greatest fear was my son would date a girl/woman outside our race. Being that he was raised in a predominantly white suburb. I drilled that in his head. Glad it didn't backfire

I 💡 think many of us wanted to be less harsh on our children than our parents were on us. We never had any input: dinner options, TV 🇹🇻 show choices, clothing/hairstyles. Less chores. And it may have back fired.
