It's business as usual at Whataburger, a month after the announcement the Texas based chain was sold to a Chicago based investment company.

That's what Whataburger's chief restaurant operating officer told those attending the Bryan/College Station chamber of commerce annual leadership luncheon.

Rob Rodriguez says Whataburger's biggest asset is the 44,000 employees who know the company's five operating principles.

Those principles are leadership and communication, people, systems, customers, then financials.

Whataburger's local presence began in Bryan in 1966 with the chain's 43rd location.

The first College Station location was restaurant number 78 in College Station in 1970.

The luncheon is the annual kickoff for registering for the chamber's annual Leadership Brazos program.
