Episode 4 is here and we get right down to business. This is a bit of a somber episode this week. The morning that we recorded this episode we woke up to the sad news of one of the Thomas twins who was kidnapped from our hometown of Columbus, Ohio in December. Ky’air Thomas was found the next day, but he sadly and tragically passed away overnight. There is so much to unpack from this entire case and we direct it from beginning to end. This of course turns into a potpourri discussion but we always bring it back. We then ask the question, “Is Columbus really a “progressive” city?” As much progression that is being made, there’s also a lot of regression. Let’s discuss this. We had to discuss another tragic case involving the beating death of Tyre Nichols in Memphis, TN. We explain why this one hit harder for black people. What is “Institutionalized anti-blackness,” and why do so many black people feed into it? We do end the show on a much lighter note with some nostalgia mixed with some good old-fashioned shade only as Kisha and Tahir can do. I mean…thank goodness we didn’t have ways to go viral when we were growing up. That and much more on this week’s show. Enjoy!
