I haven't heard somebody who is raised religious, but felt they never believed try to explain that. I don't ever remember believing in the stuff, I just remember thinking it was all rituals, like first communion, and confirmation. I don't remember thinking "this isn't true" I just don't ever remember thinking it was. Like my confirmation, the only thing I remember about it was having to wear a suit, and the Bible they gave me had a secret compartment in it. In catechism, I remember when she brought in a doll, a beaker of water and some ink and the ink signified sin and the beaker was the dolls soul and of course the doll was born with sin, so she put some ink in the beaker. I remember thinking if she had a reagent clear the water would really be cool. Not the lesson she was trying to teach.
