Boo! It’s a Spooktacular episode of ghosts and goulies… well actually it’s a top 10 kind of night but there are only 8…

Tonight we talk about Universal Pictures and their classic moster movies of the early “talkie” era.
Mr. Chulak’s ranking
8. Phantom of the Opera (1943 remake with Claude Raines)
7. Creature form the Black Lagoon
6. The Mummy (Boris Karloff)
5. The Invisible Man (Claude Raines)
4. The Wolfman (Lon Chaney)
3. Frankenstein (Boris Karloff)
2. Bride of Frankenstein (Boris Karloff)
1. Dracula (Bella Lugosi)

KJ’s ranking
8. Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923 Lon Chaney)
7. Creature from the Black Lagoon
6. The Invisible Man (Claude Raines)
5. Bride of Frankenstein (Boris Karloff)
4. The Wolfman (Lon Chaney)
3. The Mummy (Boris Karloff)
2. Frankenstein (Boris Karloff)
1. Dracula (Bella Lugosi)
Dracula was one of the first Universal Horror pictures KJ saw, and it is related to how it was shot, the stage performances of Lugosi and the atmosphere created with just a fog machine and lighting. The other key factor is all of the remakes of the Dracula films, Frank Langella, Christopher Lee, even Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise… Vampires are king!
And since we both agreed on our number 1, what are our numbers? Chulak is a 7.5 and KJ is an 8.1
We ended the show with news about the rebooted universal Monsters “Dark Universe” and the apparent death of the franchise because of the recent Tom Cruise Mummy reboot attempt.
If anyone wants an Invisible Man action figure, please contact KJ the Comic Guy at Warpmytardis@gmail.com... Only $49.95 for the original Universal Pictures box in pristine condition.
